Starfield was released for the PlayStation 5 on Aprril 7, 2026, alongside the Free Lanes update and Terran Armada expansion. This milestone was commemorated through a trailer featuring Keith David, known for his work as The Arbiter in Halo, Captain Anderson in Mass Effect, and other iconic roles.

Terran Armada, a new DLC expansion for Starfield, has been announced for release on April 7, 2026, alongside the Free Lanes update, which brings new quality-of-life changes. A PlayStation 5 edition of the game is also slated to release on the same day, with every version of the game seeing a price drop.
