Ratatan Overview
Ratatan is a rhythm action roguelike by Tokyo Virtual Theory, Ratata Arts, and Game Source Entertainment, releasing for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Playable solo or with up to four players via online co-op, players can choose from a roster of over 100 unique characters to battle the pirate forces of the world Redo using rhythmic commands, in order to reach Everafter. Developed by Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator of the hit rhythm game Patapon, the game features 7 unique biomes, dynamic weather, procedural levels, and real-time music adaptation.

Announcement History
June 24, 2026
The game's full release was delayed to October 15, 2026 for "bug fixing and polish." Producer Sakajiri Kazuto personally apologized to players through the game's official Steam page and social media accounts.
March 3, 2026
During the Nintendo Indie World Showcase, it was revealed that Ratatan will be getting a full release on July 16, 2026. Instead of the Nintendo Switch, the game will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2.
September 18, 2025
Ratatan released in Early Access Steam after a delay of more than a month.
July 4, 2025
Ratatan's Early Access launch was delayed indefinitely due to the "overwhelming feedback" the studio received from players who played the demo.
June 7, 2025
During the Day of the Devs showcase at Summer Game Fest 2025, it was announced that Ratatan would launch in Early Access on July 25, 2025.
May 20, 2025
Ratata Arts announced that a demo will be released on June 5, 2025, with a "surprise coming" the following day.
April 11, 2025
Ratata Arts clarified on their April 2025 Kickstarter update that the April 2025 delivery date on their page was merely "an estimate of when we expected to deliver rewards to our backers, not the official release date." An official launch date has yet to be announced.
