PHYSINT is an upcoming action-espionage video game created and directed by Hideo Kojima at Kojima Productions. As a spiritual successor to Kojima's acclaimed Metal Gear series, the game is a hybrid experience designed to break down the barrier between interactive media and cinema by using cutting-edge graphics, high-level film production standards, and an international ensemble cast including Charlee Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe.
Originally announced in early 2024 as a partnership with Sony, the title transitioned publishers in September 2026 to Xbox Game Studios, which will help expand the IP across gaming platforms and broader multimedia formats like film and television.

Following three months of publisher negotiations, Kojima Productions and Xbox officially announced an expanded partnership to publish PHYSINT under Xbox Game Studios. Statements from both Kojima and Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed that active development on the title remains ongoing.

January 31, 2024 | Initial Announcement
PHYSINT was officially announced alongside then-Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst. The title was introduced as a new original IP in the action-espionage genre, developed by Kojima Productions in collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment.
