God of War: Laufey Overview
God of War: Laufey is an action-adventure title by Sony Santa Monica Studio and Sony Interactive Entertainment, set to release soon for the PlayStation 5. It is a spin-off of Kratos and Atreus' adventures in the mainline God of War duology. Instead of placing players in control of the father-and-son duo, the game shifts its focus to Kratos' Giantess wife, Laufey, or Faye, played by Deborah Ann Woll (Daredevil, True Blood), as she navigates the "Afterlife of the Gods," where fallen mythological deities are laid to rest in a lawless purgatory.
Gameplay retains the modern games' third-person, over-the-shoulder perspective, but places greater emphasis on aerial combat, a feature largely absent from the recent titles. Laufey can launch enemies into the air and unleash devastating combo attacks, while also wielding a variety of magical spells through her newfound sword. She is accompanied by Phranque, a magical cube voiced by Jack Quaid (The Boys, Companion).
