Afterworld Overview
Afterworld is a grand strategy game developed by Paradox Development Studio, the internal team behind Crusader Kings III and Hearts of Iron IV, and published by Paradox Interactive. It's a brand-new IP for the studio and its first major departure from historical settings in roughly a decade.
Set in an entirely original vision of post-apocalyptic North America, Afterworld has players leading a tribe of survivors as they rediscover forgotten technology, manage wasteland settlements, and wage wars of conquest and political struggle against rival factions. The game reportedly starts small, building up a home and defining a tribe's laws and ethics, before gradually scaling up into continent-spanning conflicts over territory and resources. Multiple playable factions are planned, ranging from vault-dwelling apocalypse survivors to fanatical zealots already hardened by the new world.
