Unlock Early with Finality's Vision
If you're at Trailblaze Level 21 or higher, it's possible to unlock the event without clearing the pre-requisite mission above! Finality's Vision will temporarily be available during the event period to let you start the event early.

There are 2 competitions to challenge in Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix. Each competition consists of 7 main races with 3 R&D Nodes spread throughout the 14 days leading up to the championship race.
R&D Nodes allow you to develop car parts that provide additional buffs to improve your race performance. Check out the R&D parts and accompanying racers we recommend below!
Astropolis Cup Best R&D Parts and Racer

For the Astropolis Cup, your racecar's Ability is Kinetic Impact, which allows you to ram into a locked target and knock them back. Swept Wing EX, Charging Pod: Cyclonic Swarm, and Ram Cone: Lightning will help your car unleash more attacks that can also charge your Special faster.
If you get lucky with your R&D upgrades, adding Charging Pod: Blue Flame on top of what you already have will also grant a massive SPD boost to your car whenever the Drift Charge reaches its maximum. Whenever he's available, Jiaoqiu will also be the best racer to go with thanks to the additional SPD Boost and Special stats he provides.

During the Cosmic Cup, your racecar will have the Guided Missile Ability, which fires missiles at locked targets so you can overtake them from behind. The extra attack charges from Slipstream EX can help you pass opponents easier in the first few laps.
Charging Pod: Overflow and Deflector Cone: Swift will charge your Special faster through drifting and make it last longer. If you still have enough R&D upgrades left, try to add Charging Pod: Downpour to gain more Special Energy from missile hits. Once you unlock Topaz as a racer, her SPD Boost and Drift stats will be especially helpful.

Lead Your Team to Victory
In Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix, you will take on the role of a Team Principal and manage your own racing team. Challenge various circuits and win the top spot in the Astropolis Cup and Cosmic Cup!
Select a Driver to Join the Race
There are various drivers that you can unlock and sign onto the team. Each driver will have their own specialties, which can boost certain stats of your racecar and improve its performance on the track!
Strive for First Place
During a race, you can choose when to drift and deploy abilities to overtake other cars. If you time things right, you can even knock racers out of the way to secure first place! Drifting and landing attacks charge your Special, which can be activated to grant a huge speed boost that can drive through other opponents.
Ideally, you should try to secure the top spot during the final lap and keep your Special charged in case there are other cars approaching from behind before you reach the finish line.
Upgrade Your Racecar
As you progress through the races, some R&D phases will be available where you can upgrade your racecar to improve its stats and performance. There are various car parts you can develop with each having different buffs. Select the ones you want to focus on based on your racing style.
In order to successfully develop a part, you'll need to meet the stat target requirements that are indicated by the blue lines. During each R&D phase, you'll have 3 chances to upgrade your car's stats and complete the target part. Recommended upgrades are highlighted in the game with a thumbs up icon.
Beat Previous Records
Once you've won the Astropolis Cup and Cosmic Cup, you'll unlock the Lap Time Challenge where you can revisit the circuits you've raced in during the competitions. Here, you can experiment with different racecar builds and racers to see how fast you can clear each track!
Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix Event Rewards
Get a Free 4-Star Light Cone
Players can obtain Race to the Horizon, a 4-star Hunt Light Cone, by winning 3 main races in Overdrive: Whirlwind Grand Prix! Players can also receive all Celebration Champagne materials needed to completely Superimpose the Light Cone after winning 14 races.
