Mortenax Blade is a generalist debuffer worth pulling, especially if you have Acheron or Ashveil. He brings a general DMG increase and vulnerability for the team, not to mention the Ultimate DMG increase he provides as long as there's another Nihility character in the team. All of these debuffs are very valuable and can lead to a big boost in the team's overall damage.
Even if you don't have Acheron or Ashveil, Mortenax Blade can still be used in other teams as a general debuffer. Pair him up with other hypercarry supports, and his debuffs can allow your main DPS to shine. Since he also has increased aggro, he can also be used in sustainless teams to further increase their damage. Mortenax Blade is a good character to have, and may find even more teams to slot into in the future.
Mortenax Blade's Light Cone, Reforged in Hellfire, gives him a lot of Max HP and regens his Energy once every wave. This can allow him to get first turn Ultimates and set up his debuffs for his team to utilize. The CRIT DMG taken increase for enemies is also a good damage boost for him and the team.
Since it primarily helps his damage out, you can pull for Reforged in Hellfire if you want to use Mortenax Blade as a DPS. If you plan on saving for future banners, you can use Before the Tutorial Mission Starts if you're using the Eagle relic set or Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat as other options.

As a general debuffer who can deal decent damage of his own, Mortenax Blade's best Relic set is the Divine-Querying Master Smith for the HP and CRIT DMG increase. The Comburent effect is also great for his allies since it boosts their DMG dealt.
Mortenax Blade's Planar Ornament is Sprightly Vonwacq since it increases his Energy Regen and gets him the first turn, allowing him to set up his debuffs. This also allows him to charge up his Ultimate faster.
Mortenax Blade wants SPD and crit stats to get more turns and charge up his Ultimate, while also improving his personal damage through crits.
| Stat | Recommended Value |
|---|---|
| HP | 6000 or above |
| CRIT Rate | As close to 100% (In Combat) |
| CRIT DMG | 120% or above (Before Combat) |
| SPD | Any Breakpoint between 134-160 |
For Mortenax Blade's CRIT stats, prioritize getting at least 120% CRIT DMG since he'll get even more during combat. For CRIT Rate, try to get as close to 100% CRIT Rate in combat. This will be easier to attain because of his Ultimate, which provides a 20% CRIT Rate increase.
Any SPD Breakpoint around 134 or above will do for Mortenax Blade's SPD. If you're using the Eagle relic set, more SPD is better.
