Goddess of Victory: NIKKE announces their crossover with the Persona series on August 13. Check out what fans can expect from the collaboration and which three characters made it to the game.
NIKKE x Persona Calls in Guests from the Modern Trilogy
Collaboration Event Starts at August 13
Goddess of Victory: Nikke collaborates with ATLUS to bring three characters from the modern Persona series to the game. According to a series of announcements on official accounts, Makoto Nijima (Queen) from Persona 5 Royal, Yukiko Amagi from Persona 4 Golden, and Aigis from Persona 3 Reload are arriving in the sci-fi RPG shooter on August 13.
Although the Persona series has frequently collaborated with other games before, these have been mostly centered around the cast of Persona 5 and its protagonist, Joker. NIKKE's event is different since it spans three titles, as it is "one of the projects commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Persona series in 2026", according to a press release by the game's publisher, Level Infinite.
The "Persona on Frontline" event key visual also teased new costumes for three characters who prominently starred in the previous "Phantom Thief vs Detective" event: Quency, Phantom, and Miranda. This is NIKKE’s second major crossover event of 2026, following Lycoris Recoil in February.
Makoto and Yukiko Received Limited-Time Recruitment Banners

Makoto will be the first character to arrive at the start of the event, available immediately after maintenance on August 13. The Phantom Thieves’ strategist will be an SSR character, and her Limited Pick Up Recruitment banner will remain open until September 10, 04:59 (UTC+9).

The Investigation Team’s Yukiko will also arrive as an SSR character. Her Limited Pick Up Recruitment banner will begin a week after Queen’s, starting from August 20, 05:00 (UTC+9) and also ending on September 10 04:59 (UTC+9).
After the Limited-Time Recruitment ends, neither character will be available in Ordinary Recruit, New Commander Special Recruit, Ordinary Recruit (Tutorial), Social Point Recruit, Mileage Shop, or from Mold items.
Developer Shift Up has not yet revealed either character’s NIKKE weapon or skill kit. In their games, Makoto uses revolvers alongside her Persona, Johanna, serving as an all-rounder that combines Nuke-based skills, party-wide healing, defensive buffs, and debuffs. Meanwhile, Yukiko’s Persona is Konohana Sakuya, and she’s known as one of the series strongest magic-focused party members, specializing in Fire attacks and single-target healing.
Aigis Arrives as a Free SR Character

Aigis will be available at the start of the Persona on Frontline collaboration event and will remain active until the end. Unlike the other two characters, she will arrive as a lower rarity SR character. The android will be free to unlock, obtainable through completing the collaboration and the 14 Days Login Event. She will also not be obtainable at the end of the collaboration.
Under Aigis' announcement post on Twitter, the decision to make her a lower-rarity character has not been received well by fans of the franchise. In Persona 3 Reload, Aigis is an Anti-Shadow Suppression Weapon, built to combat the supernatural threats in the game, making her fit right in NIKKE’s setting of armed soldiers. Fans argue that she deserves to be an SSR character as well since she’s the main character of Persona 3’s DLC and already uses an arsenal of guns.

The announcement has also revived jokes about the "Persona 5 curse", referring to the times when Persona 5 has collaborated with a live-service game only to have it shut down soon after, such as with Sword Art Online: Memory Defrag, Dragalia Lost, Fullmetal Alchemist Mobile, and more. However, the meme is a coincidence brought from Persona 5 collaborating with multiple titles, as the game has also worked with long-running games like Granblue Fantasy and Another Eden.
On social media, fans are excited for the upcoming NIKKE x Persona event, even through the vocal discussions about which of their favorite characters they would rather have in the game. While choosing Makoto to represent Persona 3 has been received well, commenters on Twitter debate on whether other popular characters like Chie or Naoto were better choices than Yukiko. However, the discussions around introducing Aigis as a lower rarity character are particularly heated, with many wishing Shift Up would reverse this decision.
