Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Reveals Main Trailer and New Features
Explore the Frozen Realm of Norgan and 12 Lost Rites Dungeons on October 9

Dragon's Dogma 2 is expanding with Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, following the premiere of the expansion's main trailer and gameplay reveals during the Capcom Spotlight: Tokyo Game Show 2026 presentation. Launching on October 9, 2026, the expansion takes the Arisen north to the long-abandoned, snow-covered realm of Norgan, where players must unravel forgotten regional tragedies and uncover how an ominous, seemingly unkillable Fallen Dragon can be slain.
The cinematic trailer showcases the harsh northern climate alongside returning franchise horrors—including the tentacled Evil Eye—and previews the 12 Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges. Functioning as the expansion's core endgame loop, these 12 multi-floor challenge gauntlets test high-level parties with escalating enemy waves, harsh environmental hazards, and boss encounters. Conquering them forms the foundation of the Relic Expedition Cycle, where players delve deep into ruins to recover and decrypt powerful unappraised gear.
To help adventurers tackle these trials, Capcom announced a new set of Official Pawns. In Dragon's Dogma, Pawns serve as AI companions summoned through the Rift to support the party. While player-created Pawns often cost Rift Crystals (RC) to hire when they exceed your level, Official Pawns are curated guest companions made in partnership with notable creators that players can hire freely without RC costs. The new roster revealed for the expansion includes VTuber Mint Fantome, popular Japanese Monster Hunter streamer 茶々茶 (Chachacha), and Yogscast creator The Spiffing Brit, giving players dedicated, pre-equipped allies built for Norgan's hazards.
Updated Character Creator and Pre-Order Bonuses

Along with the new trailer, Capcom released an update for the standalone Dragon's Dogma 2: Character Creation & Storage tool, which is now available for download across supported platforms. The tool gives players early access to upcoming customization options, including Northern-themed hairstyles and new tattoo designs, allowing Arisen to build and save their characters ahead of launch. While these new cosmetics cannot be brought into the base game immediately, saved creations will transfer directly into the expansion once it goes live.
Pre-orders are now open, with early adopters receiving the Norgan Fashion Set - Northern Attire as an exclusive cosmetic bonus.
Fans Welcome Endgame Dungeon Loop, but Voice Concerns About Enemy Variety

Fans have enthusiastically celebrated the return of the classic Dark Arisen gameplay loop—praising the addition of the 12 Lost Rites dungeons and the Relic Expedition Cycle, which many players feel evokes the beloved dungeon-crawling challenge of the original game's Bitterblack Isle. Long-requested quality-of-life adjustments, particularly the expansion of equipped skill slots from four to six, multiple save slots, and the promise of an incoming Hard Mode, have also drawn heavy praise.
However, some community members have voiced caution regarding monster variety. Discussions on forums note that several shown creatures appear to be elemental reskins of base-game enemies—such as yeti variants of the cyclops and frost drakes—prompting players to hope Capcom reveals entirely new monster skeletons and unique boss encounters prior to release.
