miHoYo opened Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) with a surprise first trailer for its upcoming multiplayer action game, Nodusfall. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the realistic fantasy action game
is set in a world where divine authority has crumbled and order has completely collapsed. Players take on the role of Weavers who must forge bonds with powerful companions to fight against earth-shattering threats, seize remaining divine power, and work to restore balance to the shattered realm.
The gameplay centers on multi-mythology cooperative action, combining real-time action mechanics with strategic, teamwork-focused combat against colossal boss encounters. The world draws heavy inspiration from diverse global mythologies, featuring a realistic art style populated by legendary creatures ranging from Eastern mythic beasts to Western dragons. As players progress through their journey, they will explore a vivid mythic continent made up of distinct regions, each boasting unique ecologies, cultures, and lore.
While the reveal showcased the game's expansive co-op encounters and realistic visuals, specific platform availability and an official release window have not yet been announced.
Final Fantasy VII Revelation Showcases New Gameplay Trailer
Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the third and final installment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, has unveiled its second official trailer and new screenshots under the theme The Planet's Crisis.
Developed and published by Square Enix, the final chapter highlights reimagined battles against the colossal Weapons; massive guardians ravaging the world across air, land, and sea, including ultra-challenging endgame variants paying homage to the original game's superbosses.

The Witcher 3 Remastered is Free for The Witcher 3 Owners
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered has officially been announced by CD Projekt RED and Yigsoft, bringing an extensive suite of visual and gameplay upgrades to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics, a new turn-based tactical title from Ubisoft, adapts the franchise's squad-based combat into a strategic, turn-based experience. Players take on the role of Rainbow unit commander, assembling four-operator squads from iconic Rainbow Six Siege characters to undertake global high-stakes missions. Lofsöng was revealed in Gamesom ONL 2026 with a new announcement trailer. It is an art-driven exploration-centered puzzle-adventure game where players go on a journey through an eerie but beautiful brutalist world where sound carries all meaning. They control the unnamed dome-headed protagonist, accompanied by their origami companion, through puzzles upon puzzles, all with no dialogue and no map.
Earth has perished, and what is left is a gray desert of dust and ashes, the signs of an eternal nuclear winter. The protagonist makes their way to the epicenter, seemingly for a still unknown goal.
Mega Man Dual Override Showcased New Footage and New Boss Character
The first gameplay trailer for Mega Man Dual Override highlights new challenges for the Blue Bomber, including a new boss character named Twinkle Girl. Proto Man is also returning as a playable character, alongside usable Robot Master abilities and the new Override system.
Mega Man Dual Override is slated for release in 2027, and a collaboration with the game Pragmata is arriving sometime this year.

AION 2 Global Release Launches on October 5, Early Access on September 30th

However, ahead of the official launch, players can participate in a "Launch Scale Test" on Steam from September 17 to 18 to help stress-test server infrastructure.
Following its initial release in South Korea and Taiwan in late 2025, the title expands to worldwide audiences with cross-platform PC support via Steam and NCSOFT's PURPLE launcher. Project ZETA is a 4-team multiplayer Tactical Hero Arena title that blends together elements of hero shooters, battle royales, and MOBAs. Players form teams and duke it out on the Aran Plateau battlefield using unique abilities and guns to secure victory. The trailer at Gamescom showcased some snippets of flashy, engaging gameplay.

CINDER CITY, a new massively multiplayer online tactical shooter
from publisher NCSOFT and developer BigFire Games, has unveiled its story teaser trailer depicting a 21st-century world falling into ruin following a brutal alien invasion.
Interweaving distinct character perspectives to detail its apocalyptic narrative, the title is currently in development for PC via Steam and unspecified consoles, with a release date yet to be announced.
ONTOS, By Amnesia and SOMA Developers, Slated for 2027 Release
ONTOS, also known as Hotel Samsara, is an upcoming horror game by developer Frictional Games, creators of the widely acclaimed survival horror game classics of the 2010s, Amnesia and SOMA. The trailer reveals the protagonist slowly uncovering the Crombie’s mind-blowing, cruel experiment that concerns a strange man, a rodent machine, and the wonders of the human brain.

Pony Island 2: Panda Circus is the next installment in the Pony Island puzzle game series, where players are taken on a "phantasmagorical voyage through time, myth, divinity, and video games." Whisked away to The Earth Prison by an unfortunate early death, the protagonist must now find a way out of the underworld with their soul and sanity intact, while also bargaining with the eccentric deities of the realm to ensure survival.
Their release date trailer revealed an April 27, 2027 release date, as well as a all-celebrity cast featuring Sungwon Cho/ProZD, Arian Moayed, Caitlin Reilly, and Kevin Saxby.

ZOOPUNK, a new 3D action-adventure title from developer TiGames, has debuted a new trailer and screenshots at Gamescom 2026, showcasing its dynamic trio of playable heroes, worldbuilding, and combat mechanics. Serving as a prequel set decades before the events of F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch, the game expands the Animal Punk
universe by chronicling the turbulent origins of Torch City as the animal-inhabited metropolis stands on the brink of revolution.

There Are No Ghosts at the Grand Launches in Early Access on December 2026
There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, a new atmospheric horror-renovation game from developer Friday Sundae, follows protagonist Chris David as he unexpectedly inherits a dilapidated English hotel. Tasked with fully restoring the crumbling edifice within 30 days and 30 nights, Chris quickly discovers that something terrifying shivers beneath the fresh paint and wallpaper by night. Players must balance daytime restoration work with surviving the lurking nocturnal horrors hidden within the estate.
A playable demo will debut in October during the Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition. The game is scheduled to launch in Early Access for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store in December 2026, with a full release on Xbox Series at a later date.
Roco Kingdom Global Closed Beta Set to Launch on October 27, 2026
Roco Kingdom, the upcoming open-world creature-collecting game from Morefun Studio, is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, iOS, and Android. The seamless cross-platform RPG tasks players with forming pacts with unique creatures called Jinies, attending Magic Academy classes, building custom homes, and exploring the Continent of Carosia to maintain peace.

The Defiant Releases Previews First-Person POV
The Defiant released a cinematic trailer of a battle seen through a soldier’s first-person POV, set in 1942 on the Great Wall of China. Hoothanes and 4Divinity’s World War II action FPS takes place against the backdrop of the Second Sino-Japanese War in China and is now open for wishlisting on Steam. KRAFTON Announces Tarae: The Unbound for PC, Xbox Series, and PS5
TARAE: The Unbound, a new top-down action RPG set in an Eastern dark fantasy universe, has officially been announced by publisher KRAFTON and developer Boundary. The narrative follows six Seekers, each burdened by their own karma, as they journey through the fractured island of Taegwido and its dimensional rifts. Players must slice through swarms of enemies, master demanding boss encounters, and forge bonds with fellow allies to recover the scattered Sources needed to restore the Six Realms' broken cycle of reincarnation.
The title emphasizes fast-paced hack-and-slash combat, pattern-based boss fights, and deep character storylines that unveil as the Seekers overcome shared trials. It is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam, though an official release date has not yet been announced.
Like or Die Is A Streamer’s Battle Royale Fantasy
Like or Die is a team-based survival FPS featuring livestreamers as they literally fight to the death for survival and fame. Through the cosmic platform "Quaya Stream," 16 of these streamers are split into 4 teams and gun down enemy streamers and their revival Nexuses while also garnering likes across the galaxy.

Mewgenics! Will Have Console Releases on September 8, 2026
Mewgenics! is officially coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 8, publisher Nicalis and developer Edmund McMillen have announced. Following its initial PC launch via Steam on February 10, the tactical roguelike RPG from the creator of The Binding of Isaac tasks players with breeding and drafting a custom cat army across generations to tackle deep, turn-based adventures.

Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live Starts on August 25 at 11:00 A.M. PT / 2:00 P.M. ET
Gamescom 2026 will officially take place from August 26 to 30 at Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. The event’s schedule, though, begins earlier in the week. Gamescom dev will run through August 24 and 25 before Geoff Keighley kicks off the main festivities with Gamescom Opening Night Live (ONL) on August 25, at 11:00 A.M. PT / 2:00 P.M. ET.
The showcase will once again serve as the event’s major opening presentation, with world premieres, trailers, and other announcements expected throughout the show. Gamescom itself will then open its exhibition halls on August 26, with the public able to attend from August 27 through August 30.

Gamescom 2026 Show Floor and Activities
Gamescom 2026 will fill Koelnmesse with games from across the industry, with the entire available exhibition space already booked for this year's event. Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, SEGA, Ubisoft, Bandai Namco, Electronic Arts, Konami, CD Projekt Red, HoYoverse, NetEase, and many more companies will have booths at the convention. The size of the event means there should be a lot to explore once attendees get past the main stages, especially for anyone looking to try games that are still a few months away from release.
Xbox is bringing 25 upcoming games and 140 playable stations, with Gears of War: E-Day, Fable, Metro 2039, Stranger Than Heaven, and Alien: Isolation 2 among the games attendees can try.
Capcom will have around 60 demo stations for its own lineup. Four games are confirmed for the booth: Dragon’s Dogma II: Dark Arisen, Mega Man: Dual Override, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Street Fighter 6. SEGA, meanwhile, will feature five themed areas with playable demos for games like Crazy Taxi World Tour and even Persona 4 Revival.
Ubisoft is giving visitors a 20-minute hands-on session with Rayman Legends Retold, and Bandai Namco will have The Blood of Dawnwalker, ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, and DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 3 available at its booth.
Those demos are only one part of what the publishers have planned. Ubisoft's booth, for example, will have developer talks for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced and Assassin’s Creed Shadows, a community session for Rainbow Six Siege, and new content announcements for Anno 117: Pax Romana.
Xbox will have its own developer appearances and interactive experiences tied to its 25th anniversary. Other exhibitors will have their own presentations and activities across the halls throughout the week.
Visitors can spend time away from the publisher booths, too. Gamescom's Social Stage will host community programming, the Cosplay Village will return for another year, and the Gamescom Cosplay Contest will take place on August 29. Games Done Quick will make its first European appearance at the event from August 28 to 30, with live speedrunning scheduled across all three days.
