Among Us' update v19.0.0 adds the Influencer, a new Ghost Crewmate role that lets dead players guide the living crewmates using cryptic images.
Among Us Adds a New Ghost Role Called the Influencer
Dead Crewmates Can Now Send Images to Help Catch the Impostor
Among Us introduces a new Ghost Crewmate role called the Influencer, joining Guardian Angel as the second ghost role available. When eliminated, players who become an Influencer can pick up to three images to send to a single Crewmate, using them to point out a clue or warning. One double-edged sword issue is that these images could be seen as vague, since other players will have to interpret them correctly or may risk getting the wrong person ejected.
The announcement has gained a lot of attention, as the latest trailer racked over a million views on YouTube in less than a day. They also teased that combining both the Influencer and the other recently added Judge role could swing a match dramatically. As a Judge can overrule a vote, the Influencer can send evidence to any Crewmate, this includes the Judge.
So far, players have been split on the new ghost. Some see it as a fun new layer of chaos, where players have enjoyed puzzling out what the image was supposed to mean. Others argue the role is currently weak in practice, pointing to games where messages arrived too late. Conversely, another portion of the community has called the Influencer overpowered, similar to early complaints about the Judge role.
Among Us is a co-op survival game available on PC, mobile, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S. For more updates and info on the game, feel free to check out the article below:
