Kushala Daora is a returning Elder Dragon for the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion, scheduled for release in 2027. See an overview of Kushala Daora and its release date, as well as its equipment and elemental weakness here.
List of Contents

Kushala Daora is an iconic Elder Dragon that debuted as the flagship monster of Monster Hunter 2. It has been present in most mainline games and its latest appearance was in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
Kushala Daora is known for its metallic skin and control over storms, using ferocious wind pressure to violently blow hunters away and restrict their movement.
Kushala Daora uses its signature wind barrier to shield itself. This aura knocks back hunters who get too close and deflects ranged attacks away from its body.
The wind barrier is typically countered by equipping the Windproof skill, inflicting Poison or Stunning Kushala Daora.
Kushala Daora frequently takes to the skies and attacks hunters from above. Using a Flash Pod while it is airborne will knock it down, creating an opening for you and your team to deal heavy damage.
Kushala Daora's wind blasts can inflict Iceblight, causing a hunter's stamina to deplete faster than normal. This makes it a massive problem for weapons that rely heavily on stamina management such as Dual Blades and the Bow.
Iceblight wears off on its own after 60 seconds, but is instantly cured by consuming a Nulberry. Keep in mind that equipping armor with 20 Ice Resistance grants immunity to Iceblight.
Iceblight Status Ailment Explained

Kushala Daora is officially making its long-awaited return in the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion. It is slated for release in 2027, taking hunters to the Skybound Eyrie and introducing new challenges with Master Rank.
MH Wilds: Ascendance Release Date and Info

The Kushala Daora armor set has featured a consistent design over previous games. It is highly likely that the Ascendance iteration will closely resemble the variations from World and Sunbreak shown in the image above.

The Kushala Daora weapons have also featured highly consistent designs across previous games. They boast moderately high raw attack power and typically feature the Ice element.
Kushala Daora is vulnerable against the Thunder element, with the best spots to target being its head, hindlegs, wings, and tail. Note that these are based on the previous games and may change on the expansion's release.
