The key to finishing encounters quickly is to aim for lethal kills. Every enemy has a yellow stagger bar called the Down Gauge that fills up quickly when you parry and counterattack or use Koo's skills on them. Once they've been staggered, hit the Lethal button prompt for an instant kill on normal enemies or huge damage windows on staggered bosses.
Another key element of parrying is that successful parries build Emma's Entanglement Gauge, located at the bottom center of the HUD. This gauge is used to activate Entanglement Overdrive and Blade Arts. Parries also generate Koo's FP, allowing Koo to use Bloom Art abilities.

Emma can use skills of her own, called Blade Arts, taken from defeating Nushi Bosses and earning you their unique Nushi Skills. Found at the bottom center of the screen, the Blade Arts gauge fills up when you successfully parry enemy attacks. Make sure to use Blade Arts often, as they can deal massive damage and quickly turn the tide of combat.

Koo is Emma's faithful companion who aids her in combat with his Bloom Arts skills, which build enemy stagger much faster, and which you can obtain more of by defeating the powerful Nushi bosses. The Bloom Art gauge is replenished by parrying attacks.
Opening the Bloom Arts menu slows down time in combat, giving you enough time to pick and choose which Bloom Art to use on enemies. This grants a layer of tactics, allowing you to think through your next move and execute it before enemies can overwhelm you.
Bloom Art Guide: How to Get FP

Depending on your experience level, you can adjust the game's difficulty in the Gameplay Settings menu to suit your preferred level of challenge. Story difficulty significantly reduces the damage you take from enemies and provides more forgiving parry windows. Normal and especially Hard ramp up enemy damage and make parry timings much stricter.

| What to Buy First | What to Sell |
You can find Wandering Merchants throughout each Chapter who sell useful Manuals, Weapons, Skill Ambers, Seedlings, and other valuable items. Some of their stock can be particularly useful, so be sure to check their inventories whenever you encounter one.
You can also sell various items for a quick profit, including Ancient Books, Golden Eggs, and Spirit Stones you do not plan to use.

After completing the Chapter where you first encounter the Wandering Merchant, their entire stock will also become available through Brad inside the Cleanse Walker at the same prices. This allows you to buy and sell items without having to return to the merchant.

Upgrading the Cleanse Walker with Facility Modules, Memory Chips, Electronic Brains, and Generator Devices grants essential upgrades. These resources allow you to upgrade weapons further, unlock new recipes, and upgrade the Cleanse Walker's food farming facilities.

Building Rapport with Koo and Kagura is essential for strengthening your overall strength even in the field. Increasing your Rapport with Koo unlocks additional slots for your partner's items and skills, making them more effective in combat.
Increasing your Rapport with Kagura grants more cooking recipes for permanent stat gains, and increases the amount of food rations you can carry into the field, allowing you to explore for longer periods.

Emma and Koo can eat food while out in the field by opening your pack or when resting in Campsites to manage your Hunger Gauge and increase health restoration while outside. You can either consume rations or hard candy to manage both Koo and Emma's hunger, or feed Koo treats.
You can also enjoy Kagura's cooking inside the Cleanse Walker when resting to gain permanent stat bonuses based on the Recipe you choose.
| Collectible | Details and Rewards |

▶︎ Best Recipes to Cook |
There are numerous items to discover while exploring that can significantly improve your progress and strengthen your character. Taking the time to explore the map instead of simply following the main quest can help you gather valuable resources and upgrades.
Be sure to explore each chapter's map and collect these useful items along the way.

Exploration is an important part of this game, as wandering around can lead to new discoveries, like chests that contain new and more powerful equipment. Koo is good at sniffing these out, so pay attention to him, and he just might lead you to a great piece of gear.

If you feel like you're stuck at a certain difficult section, instead of forcing your way through it, try taking other routes to see if those would be more manageable using Emma's extended jump and hair bridge abilities. Never forget your traversal skills and see if you can use these skills to get to new, higher places.
| Advanced Tips and Tricks |

|
1. Use Upgrade Resources on the Best Weapons 2. Take Advantage of Boss Element Weaknesses 3. Maximize Damage Windows Against Bosses 4. Plan Ahead Against Groups of Enemies |

The best swords and weapons in the game offer excellent versatility and utility in combat, making it easier to take on tougher enemies. Spend your hard-earned Amber wisely on higher-tier weapons to get the most out of your resources.
The best armor is obtained as you progress through the game's chapters and does not require upgrades. As you advance, you will find higher-level Armor with better stats to replace your existing gear.
How to Upgrade Weapons

Elemental weapons that exploit the weakness of a main story boss are also worth upgrading in advance. Most bosses have one elemental weakness that you can take advantage of.
Knowing a boss's weakness in advance allows you to prepare the appropriate Elemental Swords, Bolts and Arrows, and Koo Bloom Arts, making the fight easier and allowing you to deal significantly more damage.
All bosses have attacks that can be punished after a successful dodge or parry, such as powerful charging attacks that leave the boss vulnerable while they recover. Take full advantage of these openings by using Entanglement Overdrive and Koo's Bloom Arts to maximize your damage during these valuable windows.

Fights against multiple enemies are common while exploring and can be even more difficult when Elite Enemies are present. Elite enemies such as Agile and Heavy Golems have more HP and deal more damage, making these encounters much more dangerous.
Use stealth to thin out the crowd before engaging the group, especially any archers in the vicinity. In the heat of battle, use AoE Emma and Koo Arts for crowd control and to prevent yourself from being surrounded.
