Naughty Dog Ends The Last of Us Day 2026 Celebration With Updates
New Projects Are Already On The Way
Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann ended The Last of Us Day 2026 with a studio update, confirming a few Last of Us projects are already in early development. Both will expand the franchise's lore beyond Part I and Part II, though specific details remain under wraps for now. They additionally thanked fans for donating $11,000 and counting to AbleGamers, a non-profit group for gamers with disabilities, at the studio's charity stream.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was only lightly mentioned in the closing notes. Druckmann said the team is deep in progressing on what's shaping up to be Naughty Dog's most ambitious game yet but asked fans for patience a little longer. The studio plans to stay quiet on the project for the rest of the year, with a proper full reveal promised for 2027 instead.
Ghost of Yōtei x The Last of Us Collaboration
In light of the celebration, Sucker Punch Productions had just announced a collaboration with Naughty Dog on their X (Twitter), bringing a The Last of Us-themed armor set to Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition. Players can unlock the set by playing the Ghost of Yōtei: Most Wanted expansion starting October 1st, after which it becomes wearable across Ghost of Yōtei, Echoes of Sekigahara, and Legends.
Reactions to the crossover have been quite mixed with the news. Some fans are excited for the new gear, but others are still pointing to frustrations with Ghost of Yōtei's Complete Edition having unresolved visual bugs. For more thoughts and insights, check out the page below!
