Core Values Takes Pioneers Beneath the Surface of MASSAGE 2(A-B)b
Coffee Stain Studios has announced Core Values, the first paid expansion for Satisfactory. The expansion takes Pioneers below the surface of MASSAGE 2(A-B)b, introducing an entirely new environment to build and explore.
The underground world will support a separate network of factories and logistics, with new resources, production lines, buildings, biomes, flora, and fauna. Core Values is also planned to tell a parallel story that expands on the world of Satisfactory.
Build a New Factory Network Underground
Rather than simply extending existing factories into another area, Core Values is designed around the challenges and possibilities of building below ground. Players will have new resources to gather and process, along with additional machinery and production lines to incorporate into their operations.
The expansion is intended to give experienced Pioneers another way to approach factory construction while exploring areas that have not been part of Satisfactory's existing surface gameplay.
A Story That Runs Alongside the Main Game
Core Values will tell a new story that takes place alongside Satisfactory's existing progression. The expansion isn't replacing the game's current campaign; instead, its narrative will give players another reason to explore MASSAGE 2(A-B)b.
The deeper players venture underground, the more they will learn about the planet and its world. Coffee Stain has teased that the expedition will uncover more about MASSAGE 2(A-B)b, but has not explained exactly what that means for the story.
New Wildlife Includes a Mysterious Feline
One of the stranger glimpses from the announcement is a one-eyed, feline-like creature that Coffee Stain describes as "friendly-looking." It's one of the first signs that the underground isn't simply an extension of the existing environment.
The studio has not explained whether the new creatures will have any gameplay functions beyond populating the new areas, leaving their role in exploration and factory building to be revealed later.
No Release Date or Price Yet
Core Values does not have a release date or price yet. Its Steam page currently lists the expansion as "To be announced" and confirms that players will need the base game to access it.
The expansion is currently listed for PC on Steam. Coffee Stain has not announced release details for the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S versions of Satisfactory.
