Granblue Fantasy Reveals Shaman King Collab
Granblue Fantasy reveals a slate of upcoming content during its special live broadcast on August 8. The accompanying announcement post from Cygames rounds up all the new updates, events, collaborations, campaigns, and the content roadmap for the following months and beyond.
Among the biggest reveals is the new collaboration with Shaman King, confirmed to start on January 15, 2027. Cygames has shared a preliminary illustration of the protagonist, Asakura Yo, and promises to reveal more details at a later date.
In the meantime, the Gintama event returns in October. Clearing Episode 3 in the first chapter of the event will allow players to recruit Shinsengumi members Hijikata and Okita Sougo. Progressing beyond Episode 3 of the fifth chapter will let players recruit Yorozuya Gin-chan: Sakata Gintoki, Shimura Shinpachi, and Kagura.
The My Hero Academia collaboration is also rerunning in October. After clearing Episode 2 of the first chapter, Episode 4 of Chapter 3, and the ending, players can recruit Izuku Midoriya, Katsuki Bakugo, and Himiko Toga, respectively.
Main Story Continues With Chapters 9-12
Outside of collaborations, Granblue Fantasy will continue its main quest, "The Covenant of Sky and Earth," with Chapters 9 through 12 on August 19. After clearing the latest chapter, Foss will join the player’s team as a member for the "Go! Bee Exploration Team!" Additionally, two previous events are also joining Side Stories permanently. Dragonblood War will be added on August 19, followed by Tōgen Renri Sōshi on September 16.
Meanwhile, the Ten Heavenly Generals War Chronicles returns on August 21, with Thorn and Fünf leading the narrative. Players can earn their EX POSEs by clearing Chapter 4 of the limited-time story. This is on top of the return of the Mole Troupe of Heaven event that started last August 7.
A brand new event called "Farewell, Cold Heart" will be available starting September 28. This will be a new entry in the Society event series starring Vaseraga. Additionally, the Ranger Origin, a new class job proficient with bows and guns, will arrive in October.
Granblue Fantasy is Making Its Daily Grind More Convenient
The announcement showcased a major commitment to quality-of-life changes and reducing the game’s grind. The biggest time-saver is the introduction of Ennead Pro around the end of September, which allows players to skip six multi-battles from Atum H to Osiris HL all at once by consuming 720 AP.
Batch Pro will take this a step further by allowing players to select any unlocked Pro quests and skip them together in one go by spending the required AP. Cygames is also removing the daily limit on Trial Multi Battles on August 14, increasing attempts from eight per day to unlimited and giving players a testing ground to experiment with team compositions.

The personal battle log feature arrives on September 15, displaying damage dealt and hit count from actions, which is available in multiplayer and single battles. Other conveniences include a new quest that bundles together various materials needed to recruit the Eternals (excluding boss-specific drops such as Anima), and a set activation feature for Trail of Dew effects that lets players trigger preset combinations at once.
The protagonist’s Limit Bonus system is also being streamlined, shifting from a point-allocation system to one where abilities are automatically activated. Players will no longer need to allocate Limit Bonus, including when acquiring a new job, and all abilities acquired according to rank will be automatically activated. Granblue Fantasy is also streamlining inventory management and improving filtering, starting by introducing identifying icons to gacha-acquired equipment.
Artifacts Get More Storage and a Winter Event
Cygames is also planning an update for Artifacts on August 14. The Heavenly Radiance effect, which increases the drop rate of Artifacts up to a certain number each week, will have its drop rate raised. "This will make collecting artifacts more efficient," Cygames stated in their post, advising players to take advantage of the increased drop rate.
Additionally, the Artifacts inventory limit will be expanded from 1,500 to 2,500, and a new ranking feature that filters commonly used Artifact skills will be added. There will also be a new event this Winter where players can create two event-exclusive artifacts.
Expanding Endgame Progression
Cygames is expanding some of Granblue Fantasy’s endgame activities and progression systems with new campaigns and harder battles.
Starting in September, Granblue Fantasy will hold the Replicard Sandbox Monthly Campaign to support the recruitment of the Ten Wise Men. Two characters will be featured each month, with their materials being easier to collect during the campaign period. Exclusive treasures for the featured Sages will drop from specific enemies that can be exchanged for rewards.

Additionally, featured Sages will have bonuses applied to their Sephira Gauge and Sephira’s Gospel. The first two Sages featured for the event are Nier and Estariola.
The Forbidden Calamity series will also receive two new hard multi-battles: Forbidden Glory: Belmelvolk on September 18 and Forbidden Saint: Zamarvoch in late October. Much like Forbidden Life: Nifivinte (HARD), which was added in July, these battles also come with new weapons and materials needed to unlock the fifth limit-break stage of summon stones.
The Go! Bee Exploration Team will have an update sometime in the fall, adding new areas: Istarcia, Exce Grande Airspace, Verona, and Lumiere. This update will also increase the exploration level and stamina limit, as well as other quality-of-life changes for the mode. Then, in October, the final floor for the Tower of Bab-El will arrive, with Cygames implementing it as permanent content.

These are only some of the highlights from Cygames’ paced presentation and announcement recap for the future of Granblue Fantasy. The broadcast also covered ongoing and upcoming in-game campaigns, new skins and character illustrations, updates for Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising and Relink - Endless Ragnarok, alongside new merchandise, music releases, and even a collaboration with real-life hot springs.
With all these updates spanning Granblue Fantasy and its spin-offs, Cygames gave fans plenty to look forward to in the game's future.
