Azur Promilia, the upcoming open-world RPG from Azur Lane developer Manjuu, has opened pre-registration in Korea and China ahead of its release. A specific launch date hasn't been confirmed yet, and there's still no word on a global release.

Pre-Registration Is Live on Mobile Storefronts
Azur Promilia opened pre-registration in Korea and China ahead of its eventual release. Nexon announced the Korean server’s rollout through an official post on the game's X account, with sign-ups available through two direct links, while a separate listing went live around the same time on the Chinese Apple App Store, though it isn't yet available on Android storefronts there. No Word Yet on a Global Release

While Korea and China now both have pre-registration live, there's been no announcement of a simultaneous or near-term global release alongside them, and Manjuu and Nexon have not commented on international release plans as of writing.
For now, players outside Korea and China will need to wait for further announcements. It's a common pattern for gacha titles from Chinese developers, including the developer Manjuu’s hit mobile game Azur Lane, to stagger regional launches: Azur Lane released in China in May 2017 but didn't get a formal global release until May 2019, a nearly two-year gap.
Fans Worry a Staggered Launch Will Hurt the Game

That historical precedent hasn't done much to ease concerns, though, as the response from the game's international fanbase to the lack of a global timeline has been largely critical. A recurring argument across X is that skipping a simultaneous global launch works against the game rather than for it, with several users arguing that titles that launch worldwide at once tend to build stronger momentum than those with staggered regional rollouts. Others drew a direct comparison to Azur Lane's own history, noting that its global version lagged behind Asian regions for years and worried Azur Promilia may follow the same pattern, potentially without an English localization at all.
Not everyone framed it as a mistake, though. A smaller group of users pushed back on the frustration, arguing that Western gacha communities have developed a reputation for review-bombing and backlash around anime-style character games, and speculated that Manjuu may be deliberately delaying a global release to avoid that environment early on. Others noted the complaints follow a familiar pattern, pointing out that international fans tend to voice the same frustration whenever an Asian gacha title delays its Western release, regardless of the specific game.
Azur Promilia Is Manjuu's Open-World Follow-Up to Azur Lane

With all that back-and-forth over timing, it's worth stepping back to what's actually launching in the first place. Azur Promilia is the next major project from Manjuu of Azur Lane fame, though it departs from that game's naval-combat setup. It's an open-world fantasy RPG set on the continent of Promilia, where players take on the role of a "Starborn" exploring a world of magic, diverse civilizations, and creature companions called Kibo. Kibo aren't just cosmetic: they can be sent into Pokémon-style battles against other Kibo, assist players directly in combat, serve as mounts for ground and aerial traversal, and help solve environmental puzzles, alongside supporting life-sim activities like mining, farming, construction, and firelighting.
Nexon's involvement in Korea specifically traces back to a publishing agreement the two companies signed in December 2025, according to Nexon's official press release announcing the deal, under which Nexon Korea took over Azur Promilia's Korean release, including this pre-registration push, rather than Manjuu handling the region itself. This pre-registration also isn't players' first hands-on look at the game. Per Nexon's own CBT registration guide, Nexon ran an official four-day Closed Beta Test in Korea back in May, open to PC and mobile players selected from an earlier round of sign-ups, giving a limited pool of testers early access to Promilia's world, Kibo, and combat systems ahead of this wider rollout.

With Korean and Chinese pre-registration now live and a beta test already behind it, Azur Promilia's rollout in certain parts of East Asia is clearly moving forward, even as the game's global plans remain unknown. Per Nexon's official press release, the game is confirmed for PC and mobile. Azur Promilia has previously been reported as releasing sometime in 2026 across South Korea, Japan, and China, without a more specific date narrowed down yet. Whether the global gap closes will likely come down to Manjuu and Nexon's next announcement.
