Directive 8020 is a sci-fi horror game that puts you in the shoes of the crew of the Cassiopeia, a spaceship returning to Earth. Things, however, take a terrifying turn when a deadly alien organism begins to infiltrate the ship, and it's up to the crew to figure out who's human and who's not.

The true tension arises from the moral dilemmas the player will encounter. Who can they trust? And what sacrifices are they willing to make to survive? Every choice they make will have consequences, branching out into a story tree, and the fate of the crew rests in the player's hands.

In the dying embers of Earth, humanity's last hope flickers on a distant planet, Tau Ceti f. The Cassiopeia, a colony ship carrying the seeds of humanity's survival, crash-lands on this alien world. But their respite is short-lived. As they explore their new home, they discover a dangerous truth: They are not alone. A shapeshifting alien organism stalks them, and it can mimic their forms and hunt them with precision.

The crew of the Cassiopeia is trapped in a game of cat and mouse, their every move scrutinized by their unseen predator. To escape this nightmare, they must not only outsmart their pursuer but also confront the most difficult choice of their lives. The only path to survival might lie in a decision that could doom their home planet. With time running out and the stakes higher than ever, the crew must decide whether to sacrifice everything for a chance at redemption.

Based on the game's trailer, it appears that the game will be set on the colony ship Cassiopeia, a large spaceship housing the game's many protagonists and humanity's survival. However, the spaceship seems to be threatened by an alien life form that's capable of mimicking its prey.

Brianna Young

Directive 8020 Brianna Young

Brianna Young, a talented astronaut and pilot of the Cassiopeia, is one of the five main protagonists and playable characters in The Dark Pictures Anthology: Directive 8020. While details about her personal life remain limited, her character is brought to life by the talented Hollywood actress Lashana Lynch, who provides both her voice and motion capture.

Nolan Stafford

Directive 8020 Stafford

Nolan Stafford is one of the playable characters aboard Cassiopeia, serving as its captain. Stafford commands the Tau Ceti f mission with the weight of authority and a legacy of discovery. He promised his closest friend, the late Bill Young, that he would protect Bill's daughter, Brianna, who is now the ship's pilot.

Alien Hunter

The Curator

According to the game's store pages, Directive 8020 will have "5-player online co-op." This will most likely be an altered version of the series' Movie Night mode that will allow people to play the game remotely.
