Nova Roma Gameplay

Developed by Lion Shield, the creators behind Kingdoms & Castles, Nova Roma builds on its predecessor’s style while pushing for new heights in grid-based city design.
City Management and Citizen Needs

The game follows the classic grid-based city-building loop of strategically gathering and managing resources while using them to create and place structures across the territory. By expanding, more structures will be available for building.
The game features various activities, such as forest clearing, dam-building, intricate city-grid management, aqueduct construction, and the delicate balance of meeting citizen needs.
Gods and Natural Calamities

Gods will demand that grand temples be erected in their honor and offerings be made. Failing this task will lead to heavenly devastation through natural calamities like increased frequency of lightning strikes.
Follow their will, and blessings and prosperity will come to Nova Roma, such as increased yields for resource gathering.
Nova Roma Story Plot

Nova Roma follows a small group of survivors from the fallen Roman Empire. Determined to rebuild, players will lead them into different lands and build a bastion that embodies the former greatness of the lost civilization—Nova Roma.
As they shape their city’s destiny, players can inscribe their own legacy into the annals of history through masterful leadership, visionary city-planning, and the ability to create a thriving civilization that stands the test of time.
