The newest Xenoblade title, Xenoblade Genesis, has just been announced in the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
Xenoblade Genesis Marks A New Beginning in the Series

Xenoblade Genesis was just announced in the June 2026 Nintendo Direct. The game was revealed with a nearly three-minute trailer featuring snippets of both gameplay and cinematic cutscenes in a never-before-seen open world, ruled by a magical source called Anima.
Based on the trailer, it appears to center around a currently unnamed pink-haired female protagonist who studies in a academy called Leukos, an academy for Vesselai, warriors who are able to wield Anima. She, and other characters, both friend and foe, are seen battling, riding on mounts, and exploring throughout the vast world.
Not much of the story has been revealed, but the trailer concludes with: "And it is here that mankind would learn that the vengeance of a fallen god had yet to be fulfilled," painting the picture of a divine threat as the main antagonist of the plot.
Xenoblade Genesis will be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 sometime in 2027, with a release date to follow.
Xenoblade Chronicles Titles Arriving on Nintendo Switch 2
Additionally, three mainline Xenoblades Chronicles games will get dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 editions, allowing players to experience the game in full HD in either TV mode or handheld mode. In-game cutscenes have also been enhanced resolution and quality, as well as new additional unique content for each of the three games, with more details to come in the future.
Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition's Digital Version and Upgrade Pack are now available, with a physical version to be released on July 30th this year. Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Digital Version will also launch on July 30th, followed by a physical version on October 1st. And concluding the trilogy is Xenoblade Chronicles 3 on December 3, 2026, with no physical version revealed as of writing.
