Warhammer Classics is releasing today, with 27 cult classic games from over the last 30 years of the franchise. Partnering with Games Workshop, publisher SNEG revealed titles like Dark Omen, Shadow of the Horned Rat, and more, coming to Steam.
SNEG and Games Workshop Partnered to Bring Back Classic Warhammer Games
Releases Today on Steam
Warhammer Classics is dropping today on Steam, featuring over 27 titles from the sci-fi fantasy franchise. Publisher SNEG Games, in partnership with Games Workshop, stated that the collection will debut previously unavailable and delisted titles on Steam, such as Dark Omen, Chaos Gate, and Final Liberation.
As part of their preservation efforts, each title was updated to be compatible with modern systems to ensure smooth performance. While it is currently unknown what exact changes were made, SNEG’s previous re-releases, such as The Temple of Elemental Evil or the Dungeons & Dragons Gold Box Classics, include several bug fixes and improved performance.
Over seven classic titles are debuting on Steam for the first time, such as:
● Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat
● Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000
● Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate
● Warhammer 40,000: Rites of War
● Warhammer: Dark Omen
● Warhammer 40,000: Fire Warrior
● Warhammer: Mark of Chaos - Gold Edition
On the other hand, 11 classic titles previously available on Steam but were delisted will be returning, including:
● Space Hulk
● Space Hulk: Ascension
● Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon
● Warhammer 40,000: Sanctus Reach
● Talisman: Horus Heresy
● Talisman: Origins
● Man O' War: Corsair - Warhammer Naval Battles
● Warhammer Quest 2: The End Times
● Legacy of Dorn: Herald of Oblivion
● Chainsaw Warrior
● Chainsaw Warrior: Lords of Night
There are also games already available on Steam that will launch as part of the collection:

In celebration of the launch, all titles will be available under limited-time discounts and curated bundles for only one week. Warhammer Classics will be on SNEG Games’ Steam Lists upon its release.
SNEG Director on Preserving the Franchise's Legacy
SNEG Games Director, Oleg Klapovskiy, stated that the launch of Warhammer Classics "is more than a collection of re-releases", but a statement "that Warhammer’s foundational games matter, and that they are worth preserving, celebrated, and reintroduced to a global PC audience".
Warhammer Classics features a variety of games from the 1990s covering a wide range of genres, like RTS, turn-based tactics, FPS, digital board games, and even fantasy sports. With these titles’ original releases having been lost to time and their original hardware currently inaccessible and outdated, Klapovskiy expressed their company’s commitment "to safeguard [Warhammer’s] legacy for future generations" with Warhammer Classics, "giving these games renewed life for years to come."
