Afterimages DLC Releases June 18

First announced last March, Until Then: Afterimages has recently received a confirmed release date of June 18, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The story DLC also comes bundled with the game's physical release on September 3 for Switch and PS5.
Afterimages extends the base game’s story with two new chapters, focusing on protagonist Mark Borja and side character Sofia Rubio as they navigate college life while confronting grief and loss from their past. Joining the cast are Mark's currently unnamed love interest and Sofia's long-distance girlfriend, Alissa. Meanwhile, returning faces include Ridel Gonzales, Mark and Cathy's cinephile best friend, and Ryan Soriano, their basketball-playing classmate.

"Players will discover fresh gameplay moments woven into the intimate storytelling experience that defines Until Then," the press release stated. "The DLC introduces new interactive activities, including tarot reading and baking minigames, alongside expanded in-game phone features such as dating apps and video platforms."
Game Director Mickole Nulud Talks Realizations About Until Then's Success
Continuing the latest news surrounding the award-winning narrative adventure title, Until Then director Mickole Nulud appeared as a guest in the debut episode of publisher Maximum Entertainment's podcast, The Maximum Lobby, on June 1. He reflected on his team’s thoughts when they first realized Until Then had "made it" and resonated with players.
"I had that moment early on," he said, noting the game's popularity within one to two months of launch had already surpassed his expectations. Recalling when he saw a Reddit user compile memes about Until Then, he remarked: "Having people discuss your work and make memes out of it like that... once you reach that point where someone makes a one-minute compilation [out of] four years of content [you worked on], that's a really nice feeling. It's sublime."

Developed by Polychroma Games and published by Maximum Entertainment, Until Then is an interactive visual novel playable on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG; an Xbox Series X|S port was released on April 23, 2026.
Until Then’s physical edition will arrive with a reversible coversheet, in addition to the Afterimages DLC, upon its September 3 launch for Switch and PS5. Pre-orders are now live at major gaming retailers across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Australia. To know more about the game, check out the article below!
