Umamusume: Pretty Derby is bringing back its partnership with KFC Japan for the third year in a row on August 12, 2026. This is the latest edition of one of the franchise’s most popular real-world promotions, once again pairing the horse girls with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) through a limited-time campaign exclusive to Japan.
For now, Cygames and KFC Japan have only shared a teaser visual and the campaign’s launch date. Full details will be revealed during PakaLive TV #5, which airs on July 29 at 8:00 PM JST via Pakatube!, the series’ official YouTube channel.

The first promotional artwork shows several horse girls wearing KFC's signature red-and-white uniforms as they work inside the restaurant. Gold Ship once again appears dressed as Colonel Sanders, a running gag that has become synonymous with the collaboration. This year’s illustration features Red Desire, Buena Vista, Stay Gold, Lucky Lilac, Dantsu Flame, Manhattan Cafe, and Agnes Tachyon, each wearing specially designed collab outfits.
The History of Umamusume x KFC Japan
Cygames first teamed up with KFC Japan in August 2024 through the, according to Anime Global, "How About Some Kentucky Fried Chicken with Uma Musume?" campaign, which offered collab meal sets at participating KFC Japan locations. Those meals came with collectible trading cards and serial codes for in-game rewards, while the packaging featured characters including Satono Diamond, Kitasan Black, and Gold Ship.
The latter's Colonel Sanders outfit quickly became one of the campaign's most recognizable visuals. KFC even decorated select restaurants, including its Ikebukuro Station branch in Tokyo, with character standees and collaboration displays for the event.
The campaign returned in September 2025 with another round of themed meals and merchandise, though the biggest addition was inside the game itself. Players could use an in-game feature known as &qout;KFC Sanpo" (KFC Walk), which lets their trained Umamusume visit a virtual KFC, pick up an order, and eat fried chicken together.
Serial codes distributed through the promotion rewarded consumable chicken items that restored stamina during training.
It remains to be seen whether this year's collaboration will introduce any new features beyond what was offered in previous years.
