Tides of Annihilation Confirms Angela Sant'Albano as Gwendolyn's New Voice
Recast Officially Revealed at Gamescom ONL 2026
Tides of Annihilation developer Eclipse Glow Games has officially confirmed Angela Sant'Albano, known for voicing Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil Requiem (RE9), as the new voice of protagonist Gwendolyn. The announcement arrived during Gamescom's Opening Night Live on August 25, confirming what fans had suspected a few weeks earlier.
Sant'Albano takes over the role from Jennifer English, who stepped back from Gwendolyn in July for personal health reasons after informing the studio in early June. English remained attached to the project in an advisory role and helped the team find her replacement.
From Rumors to Confirmation
Speculation around Sant'Albano built for weeks before the official reveal. Rumors grew when Angela canceled a meet-and-greet at a convention, around the time when Jennifer English dropped her role. It picked up once more after a gameplay demo circulating online showed an updated Gwendolyn with a noticeably different face and performance, drawing comparisons to Sant'Albano's work as Grace Ashcroft, and after Sant'Albano was recently spotted following the ToA’s official account.
Fans had also suggested it could be Alix Wilton Regan, the new voice of Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst. Talent-wise she was also seen as a possible candidate, but that speculation didn’t last with the recent confirmation.
The recast marks a notable genre shift for Sant'Albano, moving from a horror-driven role in Resident Evil Requiem to leading a fantasy-inspired action-adventure rooted in Arthurian legend.
