The Blood of Dawnwalker Sets Sept 3 Release Date; Details Duality System and Edition

Dawnwalker Vampire Lords

The Blood of Dawnwalker reveals its release date and shares new gameplay footage. Check out how the game’s day-and-night cycle duality system works and what fans can get from each edition of the game.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Unveils Release Date, System Requirements, and More

Launches September 3, 2026

The Blood of Dawnwalker, the upcoming vampire game led by former Witcher 3 Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, will officially launch on September 3, 2026. As announced during the Road to Launch Event livestream on April 28, the highly anticipated dark fantasy RPG will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

In the presentation, the developers shared a detailed look at the game's core loop, centering on the protagonist Coen’s duality as both human and vampire. The footage showcased how the dynamic day-and-night cycle fundamentally alters mission strategies, forcing players to adapt to the distinct advantages and limitations of each form.

New 13 Minutes of Gameplay

While Rebel Wolves previously showcased Dawnwalker gameplay in June 2025, the developers have since shared new footage highlighting the stark differences players will encounter within the game's unique 30-day-and-night cycle.

By day, Coen operates as a disciplined medieval knight, blending traditional swordsmanship with Hex magic and subtle traces of his vampiric essence to dispatch foes. Depending on the players’ actions, such as clearing the Vampire Lord, Brencis’ enemy camps, or saving citizens from other vampires, their Infamy rises, leading to the enactment of increasingly hostile Edicts.

Dawnwalker Edicts

These regional laws can fundamentally change the gameplay landscape, introducing elite vampire hunters and lockdown protocols that make navigating the world far more perilous for a Dawnwalker. This functions similarly to a "Wanted" or Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor’s Nemesis system, where enemies remember and react to players’ past actions.

High notoriety not only increases environmental hazards but can also unlock unique, high-stakes questlines, such as being hunted by, or hunting down, Vampire Lords who view players’ rising infamy as a threat to their own territory.

Dawnwalker Vampire Coen

As the sun sets, Coen fully embraces his identity as a Dawnwalker, gaining the ability to shapeshift into a wolf, scale vertical surfaces, and utilize Shadowstep for instantaneous repositioning. In this vampiric state, players replace their swordfighting with brutal bites and devastating claw techniques.

To recover, Coen must feed, and while human blood is the most potent source of vitality, feeding on animals serves as a viable, though significantly less efficient, alternative. Feeding increases his Corruption Level, which then unlocks more vampiric perks.

The developers also emphasized that Dawnwalker features a persistent 30-day clock that advances regardless of player intervention. This "time-as-currency" mechanic, coupled with a heavy emphasis on player agency and branching consequences, positions the title as a unique entry in the vampire genre that strives for true AAA quality.

Story Trailer Focuses on Core Narrative and Side Characters

Aside from the gameplay, Dawnwalker also debuted a new story trailer that highlights the emotional stakes and the oppressive world of 14th-century Vale Sangora. It centers around Coen’s primary goal of saving his family from the Vampire Lord Brencis.

The teaser offers a glimpse of Coen’s family imprisoned in a grim, gothic cell. While the conflict is deeply personal, the footage suggests his transformation into a Dawnwalker was a forced bargain intended to buy them time.

Dawnwalker Brencis Turning Coen into a Dawnwalker

This narrative tension is tied directly to the 30-day cycle, as the story culminates in a ritual sacrifice of his family to bolster the power of Brencis and his subordinates. To prevent this, Coen must use the month to grow his strength and recruit allies to topple the regime in Vale Sangora.

Each ally offers a unique questline that expands the world of Dawnwalker and illustrates the devastating impact of Brencis’ reign. Player agency will play a huge role in the outcome of the game, as Coen’s decisions will directly determine the fate of Vale Sangora, the survival of his family, and whether he ultimately retains his humanity or fully surrenders to his vampiric nature.

PC System Requirements

Dawnwalker PC System Requirements

Another major topic during the Road to Launch showcase was Dawnwalker’s PC system requirements. According to Rebel Wolves, while the specs presented are for native resolutions, the game will launch with full support for DLSS 4.5, FSR, and XeSS.

Furthermore, the RTX 5090 is required to achieve native 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra settings, highlighting the game’s heavy reliance on Unreal Engine 5 features like Lumen and Nanite. Moreover, like many modern AAA titles, an SSD is required across all tiers to handle asset streaming in the vertical open world of Vale Sangora.

Pre-Orders Now Available

Dawnwalker Digital Editions

Closing the live segment, Rebel Wolves announced that pre-orders for the game are now live. Dawnwalker will be available in both digital and physical formats, with each offering distinct editions for players to choose from.

The Digital Editions include both the Standard and Eclipse versions of the game. Players who opt for the Eclipse Edition will receive the base game along with exclusive digital bonuses, including the World Compendium, the official soundtrack, and a digital comic book.

For the Physical Edition, the game will be available in Standard, Day One, and Collector’s Editions. The Day One Edition includes the base game along with premium physical collectibles, such as a custom Steelbook and a high-quality printed World Map of Vale Sangora.

Meanwhile, the Collector’s Edition serves as the premier physical offering. It features all the contents of the Day One Edition, plus a 12-inch hand-painted statue of Coen in his mid-transformation Dawnwalker state, a 60-page hardcover World Compendium, and a Collector’s Box.

Pre-ordering any of the Digital and Physical Editions will reward players with the early unlock of the Sangoran Wayfarer’s Armor Set. It is important to note that this item will be obtainable later in the game.

Dawnwalker Coen vs. Brencis

It has been four years since Rebel Wolves was founded, and fans have long anticipated their first title launch. With the finish line in sight and the hype growing day by day, all eyes are on the developers to see if their debut game can redefine the dark fantasy genre and live up to the legendary RPG heritage of its creators.

The Blood of Dawnwalker is set to be released on September 3, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up-to-date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
