Collaboration Runs June 29 to September 1
Summoners War and TV anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End launched a new collaboration that goes live from the v9.2.6 update on June 29, 2026, through September 1, 2026, at 7:59 AM PDT. Com2uS’ fantasy crossover introduces five characters from the series: Frieren, Fern, Stark, Übel, and Himmel.
All collaboration content can be accessed through a new event building called Royal Capital, located on the right side of Sky Island. Additionally, this may also be accessed through a dedicated collaboration icon available throughout the duration of the event.
A Special Summon banner featuring the Frieren collab characters is also live for the full duration. Alongside it, the update adds special Frieren-themed emojis, new sparring matches in the Battle Training Ground, Collab Support Monsters in World Arena, and Collab Challenge Monsters in Challenge Battle.
Himmel Giveaway Alongside Character-Specific Missions
Com2uS is giving away a Default 5-star Water Himmel to players who complete ten Collab Requests spread across the event. The event’s objectives encourage players to experience most content covering the crossover. These include collecting a Collab Gift Bundle on the event screen, defeating the event boss Master X at least once, performing one Collab Special Summon, clearing the Normal and Hard difficulties for the Subjugation Requests event dungeon, and finishing other requirements from Collab Missions.
Once completed, players will receive Himmel fully built out at 6-star with max skill level, Level 40, and Awakened, along with a 6-star Legend Rage and Blade Rune Set equipped at Power-up Level 15.
A second set of missions ties directly to the five collab characters, with each one unlocking its own objectives tied to Subjugation Request clears, Master X wins, and Collab Mission completions. Finishing these earns players exclusive character emotes, Mystical Scrolls, the Frieren Collab Statue, and Himmel's Statue.
New Missions and Activities
Alongside the new characters, the collaboration introduces limited-time activities that tie the entire event together. The Collab Pass serves as a means to mainly track progress, rewarding players for completing Collab Missions. Three Daily Missions refresh every day, while five Weekly Missions reset each Monday, granting Pass EXP and additional rewards as players advance through the event.
The main combat event of the collaboration is the Subjugation Request event dungeon, where players team up in 5v5 battles alongside the Frieren collaboration characters. The dungeon features three difficulty levels (Normal, Hard, and Hell) with scaling rewards unlocked by clearing higher difficulties and progressing through additional areas. Players will also face Master X, a new daily reset boss who leads a party composed of Frieren collaboration characters, making it a key mode for clearing the event's missions and rewards.
The five collab characters and Master X also make their way into Arena Rival Battles for added challenge. During this period, players are allowed to try out the new characters directly through a Collab Character Trial, which provides four fully built Collab Characters with randomized stats that can be freely re-rolled, though these units can't be combined with a player's own monster collection.
Summoners War is currently available on Steam, iOS, and Android. The Frieren collaboration runs from June 29 to September 1, 2026, with rewards claimable until the event period ends.
