Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the third and final installment of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, launches in Spring 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games.
This epic conclusion culminates in Cloud and his allies’ adventure to save the planet and stop Sephiroth from achieving his goals. Players board the High Wind and explore the Planet as they see fit.
Revelation also introduces two new characters that will join the party: Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind. With the game’s improved combat system and new combo attacks, fans of the series will take on the final battle fully equipped with the evolution of Final Fantasy 7.
Resident Evil: Veronica Arrives in 2027
Summer Game Fest 2026 starts off with an explosive announcement—following the tracks of this year’s Resident Evil: Requiem, Resident Evil: Veronica is slated for release sometime in 2027.
A remake of the 2000s classic Code: Veronica, it will star Claire Redfield as the main protagonist, with the announcement trailer focusing on the beloved character. The original game’s other playable characters, Chris Redfield and Steve Burnside, have yet to be formally revealed.
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Stars Evie As New Protagonist
Stellar Blade continues its legacy with Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, a sequel slated for release sometime in 2027. The sequel introduces a new protagonist, Evie, set in a cyberpunk, futuristic world.
The trailer showcases some cinematic cutscenes featuring Evie who appears to be on a mission; she and her unknown companion’s "first mission in a while". Later on, she is seen in combat with one of the hostile enemies, a cybernetic human who turned into a grotesque creature who immediately starts attacking her. Stellar Blade’s signature smooth action combat makes a comeback in the sequel.
Stranger Than Heaven Launches January 15, 2027; Reveals Tupac
Stranger Than Heaven announced two major details during Summer Game Fest 2026: its January 15, 2027, release date and the inclusion of the late hip-hop icon Tupac Shakur. Alongside producer Hiroyuki Sakamoto, Snoop Dogg noted that they have permission from Tupac’s estate to use his likeness for the game.
The presentation also featured the list of Stranger Than Heaven’s star-studded cast, which includes Snoop Dogg, Ado, Tori Kelly, Bunta Sugawara, and Satoshi Fujiwara, just to name a few.
Street Fighter 6 To Add FF7’s Tifa Lockhart to Roster, Along With New Characters
Street Fighter 6 adds FF7’s Tifa to the series as a DLC character for the Year 4 Character Pass. A specified date for her arrival has not been announced yet. Additionally, other characters will also be making their first ever appearance as playable characters.
Bosch, originally from the game’s World Tour mode as the protagonist’s rival, now steps up to the plate as a selectable fighter with his own moveset and abilities. Indian Yoga master Arjun and karambit warrior Yasmine also enter the fray as new original characters. More of these characters will be revealed as they near their respective release dates, with Yasmine leading the quartet with a confirmed launch on August 3, 2026.
Monster Hunter Wilds’ Expansion, Ascendance, Launches Next Year
Resident Evil: Veronica is not the only thing Capcom has in store for its fans during the event. A massive expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, titled Ascendance, has been officially revealed. The trailer showcases an ancient Wyverian island floating in the sky, along with both new and returning monsters, including Kushala Daora and the iconic Elder Dragon Lao-Shan Lung, which long-time series veterans will recognize.
The expansion trailer also showed a new gameplay mechanic involving a rocket-powered slinger arm, turning normal attacks into full throttle. The expansion is set to release sometime this 2027.
Attack on Titan 3 Announced, With Details to Follow on July 1
Attack on Titan 3 has been confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam at an unconfirmed date. Culminating the trilogy, the upcoming action game faithfully adapts the entire narrative arc based on the popular anime and manga by Hajime Isayama.
A more comprehensive presentation is scheduled for July 1, 2026, with voice actresses Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa) and Shiori Mikami (Krista) expected to make special guest appearances.
Gen Atlas Revealed to be Fumito Ueda’s Next Game
After nearly two years of being known only as Project Robot, game director Fumito Ueda’s next game finally has a name: Gen Atlas. Announced during Summer Game Fest 2026, it is the latest project from Ueda and his team at genDESIGN, the studio behind titles such as Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian.
According to the game’s official description on the Epic Games Store, players awaken alone "on an abandoned planet." It is a "vast, silent world" full of "colossal structures" that "stretch over endless plains, deserted facilities, and an ever-changing sea." As players explore deeper into the planet, they encounter a colossal robot whose immense power allows access to new locations and reveals more of the world's mysteries.
007 First Light Teases "Bawma Will Return"For Story DLC
Fresh off its successful launch, IO Interactive took the Summer Game Fest stage to debut a teaser trailer for 007 First Light’s upcoming Year One Roadmap, which teases that "Bawma Will Return" for its story DLC. It centers on the pirate king warlord Bawma (portrayed by Lenny Kravitz) and sends James Bond back to the desert city of Aleph on another rescue mission. The announcement also confirms a Q3 2026 release for the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
1666 Amsterdam Takes Players on a Medieval Witch Adventure
From the mind behind the original creator of Assassin’s Creed, Patrice Desilets, comes a whole new game where players become one with the shadows, literally. As a master of the occult named Noa, explore 17th-century Amsterdam using the power of witchcraft to uncover a grand conspiracy involving people of her kind.
1666 Amsterdam has no definite release date yet, but a demo is now available to play on Steam for the game’s prologue chapter.
Aion 2 Ascends in September 2026
Aion 2 continues the glorious saga in the sky, as the sequel is confirmed to launch in September 2026 on Steam. Players ascend the heavens as a Daeva and take on warring factions across an epic battlefield in the skies.
According to developer NCSoft, this new title will run on Unreal Engine 5 and will be 36 times larger than the original.
Alien Isolation 2: Confirmed for PC, PS5, Xbox, and Switch 2
Alien: Isolation 2 has been announced as the sequel to the hit survival horror game, slated for release on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Switch 2. Still building on the core experience of escaping horrific Xenomorphs, the game unfolds on a distant colony planet, where a survey team discovers a wrecked vessel. Among Us Story: On Guard Demo Comes Out June 15
The creators of the breakout hit during the 2020 lockdown, Among Us, return with a brand‑new game called Among Us Story: On Guard. Crewmates can wishlist the title on Steam, with a demo set to launch on June 15 in celebration of the anniversary of Among Us.
Innersloth’s single‑player narrative adventure puts the player in the role of the Guard during Crewmate training. Crossfire is an upcoming single-player, third-person narrative action-adventure game developed by That's No Moon and backed by Team K1. It is the debut project from a studio comprised of veteran developers behind Uncharted, The Last of Us, and Call of Duty.
The game follows two opposing military operators who must reluctantly work together to endure a mutual crisis. As a third-person shooter, it uses what the developers call "Adaptive Cover" to make the terrain "another weapon in your arsenal."
Cyberpunk Edgerunners Cast Join Wuthering Waves
Kuro Games and CD Projekt Red’s collaboration merges both worlds into this grand crossover event. The trailer showcases the Rover entering a version of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City and meeting Edgerunner casts Lucy and Rebecca, both of which are playable characters. Additionally, the reveal also showed new gameplay emulating Cyberpunk’s familiar hacking mechanics.

Dead by Daylight Celebrates 10th Anniversary on June 14th With A Surprise
Dead by Daylight (DbD) is on its way to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a special surprise broadcast coming on June 14th, 2026, 8PM ET / 5PM PT. It is currently unknown as to what exactly the party-themed teaser alludes to, with fireworks, cake, guests, and a mysterious voice asking "How old are you now?"

Bandai Namco announces its brand-new flavor of Gundam with heavy emphasis on melee-based action. Rogue Orbit puts players in control of the iconic mobile suits as they battle colossal alien creatures across mysterious alien frontiers with gameplay featuring high mobility with up-close and personal action akin to FromSoftware’s Armored Core series.

Haex is a New Co-Op Shooter with a Supernatural Twist

Lords of the Fallen 2 Also Coming to Steam This Fall
Lords of the Fallen 2 is now confirmed to also release on Steam day one alongside the Epic Games Store, PC, and consoles in Fall 2026. This dark-fantasy soulslike action RPG, developed by Hexworks and published by CI Games, is set a thousand years after the events of its 2023 predecessor.
Built on feedback from over 70 post-launch updates by the community on the prior game, the sequel is said to be much faster and more responsive in combat. Mafia: The Old Country Man of Honor Story Expansion Set for August 14, 2026
Mafia: The Old Country reveals its new story expansion with Man of Honor, which launches on August 14, 2026. This DLC adds two chapters to protagonist Enzo Favara’s journey, as the Don entrusts him and Cesare with a delicate assignment to assist Ennio Salieri, a recently released man of honor determined to reclaim his territory.
Working alongside Salieri, Enzo is drawn deeper into the volatile underworld of the Valle Dorata, where loyalties are tested, and every move carries immense weight.
Mighty Cuphead Adventure is an Upcoming 8-Bit Platformer
Mighty Cuphead Adventure is a new, challenging title from Studio MDHR, makers of the Cuphead games. Not much is known about this new 8-bit platformer, but the developers noted that it is currently being developed for PC and consoles.
Mortal Shell 2 Open Beta Now Live
Mortal Shell 2 shadow-dropped an open beta on PC via Steam on June 5, 2026. Developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack, the standalone sequel to the action RPG is targeting a full release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and is also available to wishlist across its included platforms.
Mortal Shell 2 casts players as the Harbinger who must reclaim the Undermether's stolen Ova by possessing fallen Warrior Shells and dethrone false gods across a ruined open world. With every Shell comes distinct abilities to master and memories to uncover, guiding the Harbinger's evolution into a combat style uniquely their own.
Nintendo Switch 2 Games To Look Forward To
Despite not having announced their own Nintendo Direct as of writing, Nintendo still came out in the Summer Game Fest 2026 with a few titles to look out for in 2026. First up this month is STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions riding by on June 16th, with The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales following suit on June 18th. Sometime this summer, Orbitals will be making its rounds on the console, with Final Fantasy 14’s Early Access on the Nintendo Switch 2 launching in August.
And finally, fall and winter have their own respective Nintendo Switch 2 releases to look out for—Turok: Origins and Armatus, whose console releases will be announced as their release windows approach.
Palworld Enters Version 1.0 in July 2026 After Two Years
First announced in 2021 and made its Early Access debut in 2024, Palworld has now announced its entry into Version 1.0 on July 10th, marking the milestone with a cinematic trailer of what’s to come. Pals, new and old, appear to come to the forefront to protect the world from a looming threat.
Palworld is a multiplayer, open-world survival crafting game by Pocketpair where players can befriend mysterious creatures called "Pals" in a vast new world, surviving, building, and exploring all over together.
Runescape: Dragonwilds Releases to 1.0 on September 15th
Runescape: Dragonwilds releases fully to Version 1.0 on September 15, 2026. Originally released in Early Access on Steam on April 15, 2025, it will exit Early Access on the platform and also launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds (or simply Dragonwilds) is an open-world survival and crafting game developed by Jagex, released into Early Access on April 15, 2025. It is a spin-off within the RuneScape franchise that diverges from the traditional MMORPG format and explores survival mechanics while retaining elements of the original RuneScape universe. On Ashenfall, a previously unexplored continent within the world of Gielinor, dragons have awakened, throwing the land into chaos and threatening the player’s survival. Players must then uncover the reason for the dragon’s return and the Dragon Queen’s role in it, and find a way to overcome the threat they pose.
SAND: Raiders of Sophie Releases in Early Access on June 10
SAND: Raiders of Sophie is developed by Hologryph and TowerHaus and is set to release in Early Access on June 10, 2026. The developers have stated that SAND: Raiders of Sophie will remain in Early Access for approximately a year, with plans for ongoing updates and expansions based on player feedback. These updates will introduce new weapons, Trampler components, additional locations, crafting mechanics, and various improvements to gameplay and optimization.
SAW: Genesis 3v1 Closed Alpha Playtest Starts Early July 2026
SAW: Genesis is set to bring the 3v1 horror to PC via Steam Early Access "soon." Players can also sign up for its Closed Alpha Playtest, which will start in early July 2026.
The multiplayer horror game, set in the aftermath of World War I, is developed by Broken Mirror Games and Anshar Studios and published by Bloober Team NA. Players take on the role of the Judge or one of the three Accused trying to escape deadly, procedurally generated labyrinths. Maps mix traps, puzzles, and permanent consequences as inspired by the SAW franchise, demanding strategy and sacrifice in short, intense trials that are never truly the same.
Sea of Remnants Premiers "Make It Loud" Music Video
Sea of Remnants unveiled a new crew promotional video with a rock song titled "Make It Loud," featuring the Illusion Troupe, the Black Baron, the Dawnbreaker, the Wanderer, Ranbo, and Drift Bottle. Developed by Joker Studio and published by NetEase Games, the strategy adventure game is available to wishlist ahead of its 2026 release on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and mobile (Android and iOS).
Sonic Racing Crossworlds Year 2 Collab Teases Evangelion and Godzilla

Star Wars: Galactic Racer Releases Full Speed Ahead on October 6, 2026
Star Wars: Galactic Racer announced a definitive release date of October 6, 2026 with a trailer that showed snippets of its explosive, adrenaline-pumping gameplay as players zoom through the tracks against other players.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is a standalone racing game set in the Star Wars universe, created by Fuse Games, Secret Mode, and Lucasfilm Games. Galactic Racer takes place in a period of chaos and uncertainty following the fall of the Empire. The Outer Rim, home to intergalactic criminals, has birthed the Galactic League, where criminal syndicates back daring pilots who participate in dangerous, high-stakes races across the Outer Rim Territories.
