Street Fighter 6 Adds Producer Matz as Anniversary V-Rival
Special V-Rival Event Now Live in Battle Hub
Street Fighter 6 (SF6) celebrates its 3rd anniversary with a new V-Rival challenge against the game’s producer, Shuhei Matsumoto, a.k.a. Matz. Capcom announced on X (Twitter) on June 2 that the special event is now available via the Battle Hub.
Players can use any fighter to challenge Matz for a chance to earn a special reward. The official post says event rewards can be viewed by accessing Sim Sim directly, so players will need to check the V-Rival system in-game for the full reward details.
The event gives Street Fighter 6 players a small anniversary challenge tied directly to the game’s development team, with Matz stepping into the Battle Hub as the featured opponent.
Street Fighter 6 Avatar Contest Now Open

Aside from the special V-Rival challenge, Capcom has also opened the Street Fighter 6 3rd Anniversary Avatar Contest. The event gives players another way to join the anniversary celebration by focusing on custom avatars instead of regular matches.
The contest highlights Street Fighter 6’s avatar creation side, which is used across modes like World Tour and the Battle Hub. This gives the anniversary event a more community-focused angle, with player-made avatars taking the spotlight.

Winners are scheduled to be publicly announced on August 4, 2026. Players interested in joining should check the official Street Fighter 6 contest page for the full rules, schedule, and entry details.
Street Fighter 6 is already available across multiple platforms. For more details on the game’s release history, supported platforms, and storefronts, check out the page below.
