Space Marine 2 Extends Live Support Into Year 3 After 12 Million Players Milestone
Focus Says Free Updates Will Continue Beyond Year 2

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has reached 12 million players, and Focus Entertainment has confirmed that the game’s live support will continue into its third year.
According to Focus, recent updates have been well received by the community, which motivated the team to keep that momentum going. Content that did not make it into the updated Year 2 roadmap will now roll over into Year 3 and remain free, though Focus did not specify which pieces of content were postponed or reveal the full Year 3 schedule.
Patch 13 Adds New Operation, Wargear Sharing, and Iron Hands Content

The update also outlined several pieces of upcoming Patch 13 content. One major addition is a new PvE Operation set on the planet Kadaku, where players will investigate Chaos activity near a Cadian base and attempt to stop an unholy ritual.
Patch 13 will also begin the Wargear rework, letting players equip certain class-specific Wargear on other classes. Focus said capes and Iron Halos will arrive first in Patch 13, while tabards and robes are planned for Patch 14. However, lore restrictions will still apply, meaning not every class can equip every item.

Season Pass 2 owners will also receive the Iron Hands Chapter Pack, which includes a Techmarine Champion and a skin for the Omnissian Axe. Iron Hands-themed armor pieces and decals will also be added as part of the Chapter Customisation Pack.
The Iron Hands are a loyalist Space Marine Chapter descended from Ferrus Manus, one of the Emperor’s gene-forged Primarchs. In Warhammer 40,000 lore, Primarchs are superhuman figures created as the genetic templates and original leaders of the Space Marine Legions. Unlike the more balanced Ultramarines, the Iron Hands are defined by their cold, machine-focused culture, heavy use of cybernetics, and belief that flesh is a weakness to be replaced with stronger metal.
Siege Mode Is Getting New Modifiers and Boss Encounters

Siege mode is also getting a larger update. Focus said the mode will receive new shop items, Accolades, and tools such as explosive mines, explosive barrels, turrets, and a Techpriest who can be defended for currency boosts.
The mode will also introduce Blessings and Atonements as mission modifiers. Players will be able to choose one Blessing from three options every five waves, while one Atonement will also apply every five waves. Focus said Atonements can be rerolled with Siege currency, but has not yet detailed every possible modifier.
Focus also confirmed that the Hive Tyrant and Vortex Beast can appear as bosses in Siege mode. The timer is also being reworked, so instead of causing an immediate Game Over when time runs out, enemies will become harder to defeat.
Practice Arena, Perk Loadouts, and New Weapons Are Also Coming

Patch 13 will add a Battle Barge Practice Arena for solo play. The new area lets players test weapons against selected enemies and difficulties, with displays for total damage dealt and damage per second.
Focus confirmed new perk loadouts, allowing players to create up to three perk setups for easier swapping in the Armouring Hall. The update will also add a new Bolt Carbine sidearm, available for Bulwark and Assault, along with three Heroic weapon variants for the Plasma Pistol, Chainsword, and Power Axe.
Six new armor variants are also planned as Heroic Deeds rewards. These will be added to the Refinement & Redemption shop, giving players more cosmetic goals tied to progression.

Space Marine 2 is a third-person action game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a far-future setting where humanity is locked in constant war against alien and supernatural threats. Players step into the boots of Titus, a Space Marine from the Ultramarines Chapter. Space Marines are genetically enhanced super-soldiers who serve as some of the Imperium’s strongest warriors, while the Ultramarines are one of the most recognizable Chapters. In Space Marine 2, Titus fights Tyranid swarms and other enemies of the Imperium across solo, co-op, and multiplayer modes.
