Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has announced via an official news post that Goro Majima from the Yakuza series, appearing as Captain Majima, will be in the upcoming "Captain Majima Content Drop" update launching on April 29, 2026.
The update introduces Majima as a playable racer, alongside his pirate ship-themed vehicle, the Goromaru. Moreover, four songs from the Like a Dragon series have also been added to the game’s soundtrack, including "Mad Dog," "Now or Never," and two versions of "Receive You The Hyperactive."

Sonic Racing: Crossworlds’ Guest Roster Keeps Growing

Guest characters have been a steady part of CrossWorlds’ updates, with additions like Joker from Persona 5 and Minecraft’s Steve already getting attention from players. The mix of SEGA and partner franchises has kept discussions going online, especially as each new update adds to the lineup. Majima’s inclusion continues that run, bringing in another familiar face from SEGA’s catalog.
With a lineup that already spans Persona, Minecraft, and Like a Dragon, CrossWorlds is quickly shaping up to be SEGA’s most ambitious crossover racer yet—leaving plenty of room for future guest characters to take the wheel.

As part of SEGA’s Steam Golden Week promotion, fans of the series can play the game for free on PC via Steam from April 30 through May 4, alongside a limited-time 40% discount running until May 7.
