Snowbreak: Containment Zone Returns with New Event After Extended Shutdown

snowbreak winds of warmth

Snowbreak: Containment Zone is finally coming back online after more than two months of unexpected downtime. Learn more about the server reopening, return rewards, and how the game ended up offline.

Snowbreak: Containment Zone Returns on May 8

Winds of Warmth Event Launches Alongside Long-Awaited Reopening

Snowbreak: Containment Zone comes back online after a lengthy 66 days of downtime on May 8, 2026, at 14:00 (UTC+8). The developer shared the news through the game's official X (Twitter) account, confirming that a new limited-time event, Winds of Warmth, will go live at the same time as the servers reopen.

The outage began on March 2, 2026, when Seasun pulled the game offline under the banner of technical maintenance, offering no confirmation of when it would resume. For the better part of two months, players were left in the dark, making the return date one of the most anticipated announcements the game's community had been waiting for.

What Players Can Expect When Servers Are Online

Players will receive compensation, as Seasun Games prepared multiple rewards to be distributed through in-game mail, claimable within one month of the servers going live again. Here's a list of what's included:

⚫︎ An Ever Together – Advanced Manifestation Invitation Letter, letting players pick any Orange-tier (5-star) operative spanning from launch to the Fragments of Truth update
⚫︎ An Ever Together – Advanced Weapon Bay, offering the same freedom of choice for weapons across the same version range
⚫︎ One Special Time-Limited Manifestation Echo Covenant per day, capped at 66 total, redeemable only during the Winds of Warmth event period
⚫︎ Carried-over rewards from the Water City Tour missions and Dreamtide Pass that went uncollected during the maintenance period
⚫︎ 4x Memory Chip Bundles and 2x Baldr Inhibitor (Large) distributed daily over 14 days
⚫︎ Namecard: Welcome Home, a Full Throttle avatar frame, and a collection of character-specific chat stickers

In addition to the direct rewards, the developers also addressed the playtime players lost during the shutdown. Limited-time items that had already been claimed before March 2 will have their remaining validity restored from when servers went offline. Additionally, content from the Back From Bygone update has also been given a deadline extension through May 15, 2026, covering the Chongfu Market event shop, the Special Invitation for Marian – Aquila, and the Hero Games co-op event.

Why Did Snowbreak Go Offline?

Events leading to the shutdown started in late February 2026, when Seasun Games announced a partnership with China Post, the state-owned national postal service. The news landed poorly on Chinese social media, where critics argued that the game's risqué character designs were at odds with the public-facing image of a government-linked institution.

What then followed was a rapid escalation. The game became a dominant talking point on Tieba, China's equivalent of Reddit, and the collab controversy attracted enough attention that mainland news outlets began covering it.

China Post ultimately distanced itself from the collaboration, and Seasun Games decided to remove a large portion of content from the game's Bilibili channel, specifically, mature-themed videos dating back as far as July 2023. The formal maintenance announcement came on March 2, with no confirmed end date.

On the other hand, the community felt there was uneven treatment. Other games with comparable themes, Azur Lane among them, had run their own China Post tie-ins without drawing anywhere near the same volume of criticism, a point many Adjutants raised openly during the weeks that followed but were left waiting for an update. Snowbreak: Containment Zone is available on either PC or mobile, and servers reopen May 8, 2026, at 14:00 (UTC+8).
