Silver Palace's Second Closed Beta Was Its Biggest Yet
Third Closed Beta Confirmed
Silver Palace has surpassed 10 million pre-registrations across all platforms, according to an announcement from the game’s social media account posted on August 16. This milestone came three days after the conclusion of the second closed beta test, "Dichotomy," which ran from July 23 to August 13.
The Victorian-era-inspired gacha game has gained six million new interested players since its previous update in January, which reported four million wishlists following the end of its first closed beta test. Since then, developer Silver Studio and publisher Elementa have also promoted the game at events like Anime Expo, Japan Expo, and Bilibili World, with two confirmed upcoming appearances at Anime NYC and Gamescom later this month.
A third closed beta test has been confirmed, and players who participated in the Dichotomy test are eligible for it. While the start date for this test remains unannounced, Silver Palace is actively in development for PC, iOS, Android, and unspecified consoles, with no overall release date set yet.
Pretty Open-World Causing Optimization Issues

Players who tuned in to the beta gave their impressions on online forums, with many commenters praising the story, vertical traversal, and graphics. The Investigation mechanic has sparked the most debate, mainly with the level of guidance and leniency in case-solving. Some testers also noted that the controller control scheme could use improvements and that combat is serviceable but still needs more work.
The biggest issue is the game’s performance, as even beta testers with strong hardware continue to report frame drops and stuttering, especially when traversing the open world on a mount. Since Silver Palace is built on Unreal Engine 5, players are concerned about whether Silver Studio can optimize it for mobile devices. Additionally, one unaddressed feature is the game’s gacha economy, which isn’t fully represented in the two betas and remains a pivotal part of the game that players need to see as it nears its unannounced release date.
Dichotomy Adds New Protagonist, More Content, and Overhauled Combat
The Dichotomy Beta was Silver Palace's largest playtest so far, with over 40 hours of playable content. A new male detective protagonist debuted, giving players the option to choose between male and female detectives. The second closed beta also introduced eight new characters, bringing the roster to fifteen, more story content, previously unexplored parts of Silvernia, and additional open-world activities like horse racing.
The second closed beta introduced an overhauled combat system, featuring a battle gameplay loop revolving around "dodging, parrying, Stamina management, and a Stun buildup mechanic", according to a press release from publisher Elementa. Several character skills and ultimates have been updated, along with new battle mechanics. For players who need the extra help, there’s also a new combat-assist system.
Silver Palace’s Investigation mechanic was also heavily featured, as the latest round of testing included investigation-focused deduction gameplay and branching quests. Elementa didn’t mention any changes or tweaks to the mechanic, retaining the previous loop of gathering clues for the evidence board.

With Silver Palace now past 10 million pre-registrations, the confirmed third beta should allow Silver Studio to address these optimization concerns and further refine the game ahead of launch.
