Capcom Plans To Keep PRAGMATA Going

PRAGMATA developer Capcom intends to keep its newest IP going for the foreseeable future. During the Interactive Innovation Conference (iicon) 2026, Capcom USA Chief Operating Officer Rob Dyer shared how they found success with the sci-fi action-adventure.

As reported by GameFile, Dyer said that the game's blockbuster status is due to active collaboration between the studio’s American and Japanese teams. He noted that the developers leveraged feedback from multiple surveys and tests with Western audiences to help shape the final experience.

PRAGMATA’s success places the franchise alongside Capcom’s most popular IPs, with the company already looking to expand the series further. "We're at a point now where we've got another IP that Capcom, and god bless them, has an arsenal, that we can continue to go down," Dyer said.

This latest comment is reinforced by the game’s monumental milestone, surpassing one million copies sold just two days after launch. In an official X (Twitter) post on April 21, which was "hacked" by the protagonist Diana, the developers thanked fans for their support with unique artwork featuring the game's lead characters.

Capcom also published an article regarding the achievement, highlighting the game’s impressive performance despite being an entirely new IP built from the ground up. "Moving forward, we will continue making every effort to deliver the appeal of PRAGMATA to an even broader audience," the studio said.

Early Demo and Day One Nintendo Switch 2 Also Major Factors in Success

Beyond the developers’ keen focus on incorporating fan feedback, Dyer also pointed to the early demo and the day-one release on Nintendo Switch 2 as pivotal factors in the game’s success.

"These initiatives generated significant momentum, enabling Pragmata to achieve worldwide sales of over one million units in just two days despite being a completely new IP, marking a strong start for the title," the COO stated.

Over the past two years, Capcom has produced a string of heavy-hitters that have been resounding successes for the studio. Last year, Monster Hunter Wilds became the company’s fastest-selling title, moving over 8 million copies in just three days.

Meanwhile, earlier this year, Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) set a new record for the franchise, surpassing 6 million copies sold since launch. With Monster Hunter Wilds receiving constant updates and RE9 ramping up for a DLC release this month, fans are hopeful that Capcom’s newest pillar will deliver more content featuring the sensational father-daughter duo.

PRAGMATA is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. To stay up to date with the latest information about the game, check out our article below.
