Pikmin and the Seattle Aquarium have announced a new summer collaboration event featuring hidden Pikmin displays and a Pikmin Bloom MINI WALK along the Seattle waterfront. Here’s what to know about the upcoming event.
Hidden Pikmin and Pikmin Bloom MINI WALK
Scheduled From May 23 Through September 7
Pikmin and the Seattle Aquarium have announced a summer collaboration event that will run from May 23 through September 7, featuring hidden Pikmin displays and a Pikmin Bloom MINI WALK at the Seattle waterfront.
Visitors will be able to search for hidden Pikmin throughout the Seattle Aquarium campus during the event period. Guests are encouraged to "be on the lookout" around Piers 59 and 60 as well as the Ocean Pavilion.
The event will also feature a free interactive MINI WALK in the Pikmin Bloom mobile app running from May 23 through September 7 along the Seattle waterfront. During the event, players can interact with nine Special Spots placed throughout the area in the Pikmin Bloom app to receive Gold Seedlings that grow into Decor Pikmin. In Pikmin Bloom, Decor Pikmin are costume-wearing Pikmin themed around real-world locations where they are found.
Players will be able to receive one Gold Seedling from each Special Spot every 30 days during the event period. The official event map showing the Special Spot locations across the Seattle waterfront has also been released.
A dedicated pop-up tent and AR photo opportunity will additionally be available on the roof of the Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion from May 23 to 25 and again from September 5 to 7 between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. PT / 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. ET. While those physical activities will only be available during the listed dates, the MINI WALK and in-app Special Spots will remain accessible throughout the full event period.
According to the announcement, the Seattle Aquarium will become the first aquarium in North America to host a Pikmin Bloom MINI WALK event. Located along Seattle’s iconic waterfront, the aquarium features marine exhibits and conservation-focused experiences centered around the ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. Tickets for the aquarium can be purchased through the official Seattle Aquarium website.
MINI WALK Collaborations Continue Worldwide
Pikmin Bloom MINI WALK events are held in collaboration with festivals, attractions, and local events in different regions. Earlier this year, Pikmin Bloom partnered with Los Angeles’ Delicious Little Tokyo celebration for a MINI WALK event held from April 18 to April 30 that allowed players to explore the district and collect Gold Seedlings as well. Previous MINI WALK events have also been hosted in locations such as Germany, Taiwan, and the San Diego Zoo in California.
The Pikmin series follows small plantlike creatures that accompany players across exploration-focused adventures on Nintendo platforms. Meanwhile, Pikmin Bloom adapts the franchise into a mobile app focused on exploring real-world locations and activities.
