Phantom Blade Zero’s full release has been delayed by 50 days. The game is now slated to launch on October 29, 2026 instead of September 9, as was initially announced.

Full Game Will Launch on October 29, 2026
Phantom Blade Zero announced a 50-day release delay on X (formerly Twitter) on June 2. The news came just a half hour after the game was confirmed for summer pre-orders during PlayStation’s gaming showcase, State of Play.
The game’s full launch has been moved to October 29, 2026 from the previously announced September 9 launch. Soulframe, Game Creator and CEO of developer S-GAME, personally apologized to fans and cited "genuinely important improvements" as the reason for the delay.
In turn, he promised to release new in-game footage when pre-orders open. A dedicated State of Play with a 15-to-20-minute deep dive featuring new gameplay content has also been confirmed for release, although S-GAME has yet to announce a specific date.
Fans expressed their support for the game’s dev team in the comments section of the announcement, with some players appealing for a public demo before the October launch.
Phantom Blade Zero announced its intended September 9 release and opened the game for wishlisting during The Game Awards in December 2025. It surpassed 1 million wishlists within 15 days.
Stepping away from a September packed with big titles such as Marvel’s Wolverine, Silent Hill: Townfall, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the game will now debut in October. It will follow closely behind a few major releases, namely Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, arriving just weeks before the highly anticipated November 19 release of GTA 6.
Pre-orders Open in Summer
The game will still open for pre-orders sometime in summer, as confirmed during State of Play. A specific release date has yet to be announced.
Phantom Blade Zero is an action-adventure RPG that fuses traditional wuxia with fantasy and folk horror. Players step into the shoes of Soul, a warrior with only sixty-six days to live. The game’s official website describes its aesthetic and martial arts-inspired gameplay as "Kungfupunk."
