Persona 4 Revival Release Date Might Be Xbox Games Showcase 2026's Big Reveal

The protagonist running through the streets

Persona 4 Revival has received an ESRB rating in the United States, fueling speculation surrounding Atlus' upcoming remake ahead of Xbox Games Showcase 2026. Here's what the latest update could mean for the game.

Persona 4 Revival Receives ESRB Rating

ESRB Rating Follows Recent South Korean Listing

Persona 4 Revival has received a rating from the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) in the United States, following a recent classification from South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) and prompting fans to speculate that the game could be featured at Xbox Games Showcase 2026.

The rating was spotted on the game's Xbox Store page, where it was classified as M for Mature. The listing includes content descriptors for Blood, Partial Nudity, Sexual Themes, Strong Language, and Violence.

Persona 4 Revival was previously listed in a May 2026 report from South Korea's GRAC, alongside LEGO Skylines, Castlevania: Belmont's Curse, Gears of War: E-Day, and Ace Combat 8.

Fueled Speculations

Neither the ESRB nor GRAC ratings confirm that new information is imminent. However, ratings are often among the final regulatory steps completed before publishers begin sharing additional details, opening pre-orders, or announcing release dates.

The timing has led some fans to speculate that Persona 4 Revival could appear during Xbox Games Showcase 2026, scheduled for June 7. The remake was originally announced during Xbox Games Showcase 2025, but Atlus has yet to provide a release window since its reveal.

Persona 4 Revival is a remake of Atlus' role-playing game Persona 4, which originally launched in 2008. Set in the rural town of Inaba, the story follows a group of high school students investigating a string of murders and the mystery surrounding a television channel that appears only on rainy nights. While uncovering the truth behind the case, players attend school, build relationships with friends and townspeople, and embark on a journey of self-discovery while battling supernatural enemies known as Shadows.

The original game remains one of the most popular entries in the Persona series and has spawned several spin-offs, including anime adaptations, fighting games, and rhythm games. Following the remake's announcement, Atlus' P-STUDIO director Kazuhisa Wada described Persona 4 as "a special title" that "holds a personal place in my heart."

Wada also said the team is creating a remake that will feel "fresh and surprising" for both newcomers and long-time fans. Persona 4 Revival is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. To stay up-to-date on the game, check out our article below.
