Dawn of Palpagos Is Getting a Second Edition Print Run
Bushiroad Committed to Restocking for Fans
The Palworld Official Card Game has announced additional units for the "Dawn of Palpagos" set, following stock shortages and difficulty acquiring products after its July 30 launch. In an announcement on its official X account posted on August 19, publisher Bushiroad confirmed a Second Edition print run to "ensure more players can get their hands on the game."
Demand had already been unusually high for its inaugural booster set before its release, reaching 3.5 million packs ordered worldwide as announced on July 9. Since then, the booster set and the two trial decks have been difficult to find at retailers, with many major stores marking the products as sold out or imposing purchase limits.
Second Edition Print Run Can Correct Errata and Add Variation
A second edition print run generally means that the publisher will produce another batch of Dawn of Palpagos, often correcting errata and adding slight variations from the original batch. Bushiroad is most likely going to correct the "Ribbuny - Little Princess" Pal card, as the company previously acknowledged the incorrect Strike frame color and the missing Strike text on their official website. Another printing error is a misspelling of Palworld as "Palword", found on packs and boxes of the first edition.
Historically, Bushiroad tends to preserve the prestige of the first set, keeping changes or alternate illustrations to a minimum. For example, the second edition of Cardfight Vanguard’s "Awakening of the Chakrabarthi" booster pack only added one new illustration for the "Chakrabarthi True Dragon, Mahar Nirvana" card. In Weiß Schwarz’s "Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End" reprint, the publisher changed all hot-stamped SP cards to silver instead of the original gold.
Bushiroad has not detailed whether the upcoming second edition printing will introduce any other changes to the cards, packaging, rarities, or card treatments. However, the acknowledged errata are a safe bet for them to change first.
Restocking the first-edition Palworld OCG products and printing a second edition should help Bushiroad meet global demand following the card game's strong launch. With several additional products already scheduled and the second booster set, Legends Awaken, arriving on October 30, the Palworld OCG lineup is set to expand quickly. The bigger question is whether Bushiroad can increase supply quickly enough to keep up with the game's demand.
