Palworld's Official Card Game celebrates 3.5 million orders worldwide for its inaugural set "Dawn of Palpagos". Find out what else publisher Bushiroad has in store for the card game.
Dawn of Palpagos Launches Worldwide
Bushiroad Reports 3.5 Million Packs Ordered
The Palworld Official Card Game's inaugural booster set, "Dawn of Palpagos," has reached over 3.5 million pack sales worldwide, according to a press release from the card game’s publisher, Bushiroad. The milestone was announced on July 9, three weeks before its worldwide release on July 30.
Bushiroad is a Japanese company that has worked on other TCGs, such as Cardfight!! Vanguard, Shadowverse: Evolve, and Weiß Schwarz. The company’s President and CEO, Takaaki Kidani, has also confirmed that the Palworld OCG launched simultaneously in "Japanese, English, and Simplified Chinese versions."
The Dawn of Palpagos set contains a mix of Pals, Structures, Gears, and Events, bringing it to 100 unique cards to collect, including popular characters like Zoe and Lily. Adding the 61 parallel cards, such as alternative art and full art variants, brings the set to 161 cards in total.
The Palworld card game was released alongside two trial decks, "Dawn of Palpagos Red Blue" and "Dawn of Palpagos Green Purple". These two pre-constructed decks contain 50 Main Deck cards and 10 Soul Deck cards to immediately start playing the game. Another special inclusion is that one card from the Main Deck will have a guaranteed parallel-rarity card instead of its normal variant.
Limited Stocks After Release, Rare Cards Enter the Aftermarket
Product availability has varied between selected stores following the launch. Some retailers have marked booster boxes as sold out or imposed purchase limits, while others continue to list individual boxes and sealed cases for sale as of writing.
Early aftermarket activity has also produced several high-priced transactions, even before the official launch. A rare Gold Soul Cattiva card sold for nearly $4,000, and a copy of Chillet Dragon Whisperer for $1,400. However, both transactions were made before the official release, and prices have since begun to stabilize. For example, the Golden Cattiva has recently sold for prices around $1,500.
Bushiroad has already scheduled several additional products for the game: rubber playmats and storage boxes for Shadowbeak and Petallia are due on September 25, followed by a Sleeve & Card Set Vol.1 on October 2. There will also be four themed card-sleeve products for Petallia, Shadowbeak, Relaxaurus, and Grizzbolt on October 16.
The second booster set, "Legends Awaken", is already scheduled for October 30. The set will contain 100 standard cards plus their parallel versions. Preorders are also available for the set at selected stores.
Bushiroad Takes Palworld OCG on a Worldwide Tour
Bushiroad supported the launch through the Palworld OCG Caravan, visiting more than 200 stores across the globe across North and Latin America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Current locations cover the United States, Canada, Mexico, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia. Interested buyers can refer to the corresponding regional event pages for more information about local retailers.
All participating stores are holding demo sessions from July onward, where locals can dive into the game with a guide. All required decks and materials will be provided during the event, making the sessions accessible for both first-time card players and veteran TCG players to learn Palworld OCG’s fundamental mechanics.
The event is usually first-come, first-served, so interested players will need to reserve their spot online, following the sign-up link for their chosen store. Player capacity and available slots will vary per location. Registration is handled through the Bushi Navi app, where players can also search and sign up for nearby Palworld OCG events.
As a reward for attending the event from July 30 onwards, participants can earn the exclusive Foldable Deck Case, which replaces the usual Prototype Deck, the limited-edition Foiled Chillet Soul Promo Card, and the unique "“Ready to Splash" event flair via the Bushi Navi app.
Road to the 2027 World Championship
Organized play began shortly after with the Grand Release Tournament in August, where participating stores can host the event once during the whole month. These events use constructed decks and follow a five-round Swiss format with best-of-one matches.
Regular shop tournaments also began in August, offering promo cards for participants and winners. Bushiroad has also stated that new promo cards will be available every three months. The first Challengers Cup season is scheduled to run from September through November 2026 for exclusive prizes.
Meanwhile, the higher-level Masters League will take place across more than 20 regions between September 2026 and March 2027. Japan will also have its own separate tournament, Masters Finals, in April 2027. Qualifying players from both Masters leagues will advance to the Masters World Finals at Card Game Festival 2027 in Tokyo in May, where they will compete to be the first Palworld OCG world champion.
Palworld has continued to expand following its successful 1.0 launch, as it celebrates a similar milestone with the first booster pack of its Official Card Game. Bushiroad has been setting a solid foundation through post-launch support, while also gearing up for wider efforts to capitalize on the OCG's momentum with more products and even a competitive circuit down the line.
Beyond the card game, the IP is also branching into other projects, including the mobile MMORPG in partnership with Garena, a mobile port of the game by Krafton, a farming spin-off called Palworld: Palfarm, and the dating simulator Palworld! ~More Than Just Pals~.
