Palworld’s dating sim spin-off, Pal♡world! ~More Than Just Pals~, is officially in development, turning what began as an April Fools’ joke in 2024 into a legitimate project. Developer Pocketpair has released a promotional video and Steam page, confirming that the game is more than just a one-off gag.
The trailer gives a glimpse into its visual novel-style presentation, placing players in a school setting where they can interact with familiar Pals. However, the tone quickly shifts into darker territory, with elements reminiscent of Doki Doki Literature Club! and other psychological horror titles like Higurashi When They Cry.
The video ends with a direct confirmation from Pocketpair’s Head of Publishing and Communications, Bucky, that the game is real, while descriptions on YouTube and Steam tease "horror, mystery, and timeloops… and an unexpected surprise." A Steam disclaimer also notes that the game contains horror elements.

Before the spin-off took shape, Palworld built a massive audience with its mix of creature-collecting, survival mechanics, and factory-style automation.
