New Lollipop Chainsaw Will Be Playable for the First Time
Juliet Returns at TGS 2026
The newest Lollipop Chainsaw game will have its world-premiere playable debut at Tokyo Game Show 2026, as announced by Dragami Games on its official accounts and website. Juliet Starling appears to return as the protagonist, with official ambassador and cosplayer PeachMilky set to appear at TGS wearing Juliet’s new outfit. However, Dragami Games has yet to confirm whether Nick Carlyle, Juliet’s jock boyfriend from the original game, will also return.
The currently untitled project will be playable at the Sega/Atlus booth during the event, which runs from September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Four demo stations will be set up in the Sega Partners area of the booth.
Players who play the demo will receive an original keychain while supplies last, and booth visitors can get a logo sticker. Additionally, a special talk show, "Lollipop Chainsaw NEW PROJECT," will take place on September 18 and 19 at the Sega Event Stage and the TGS2026 Main Stage.
This playable debut follows the July 2025 partnership announcement between NADA Holdings and Dragami Games for a new Lollipop Chainsaw game and anime adaptation. At that time, the companies confirmed that development had begun with key staff from the original title and that the new game would expand on the original while maintaining its dark humor and distinctive tone "without imposing excessive creative restrictions in the name of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion)".
Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata’s Studio Is Developing the New Game

The new Lollipop Chainsaw entry also garnered attention for its new developer. JP UNIVERSE, a game technology company founded by Hajime Tabata, is developing the new Lollipop Chainsaw game. Hajime Tabata is best known for his work at Square Enix, where he directed Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy Type-0 as well as producing other titles in the Final Fantasy series. The exact nature of Hajime Tabata's involvement, and whether he will be acting as the game's director, has not yet been confirmed.
Founded in 2022, the company has been largely working on its IP Ryugu Kingdom, aiming to "turn Japan into an RPG", and its proprietary AI-powered World RPG engine, OwnWorld, which supports the creation of "worlds, characters, and narratives using AI". The company states OwnWorld is used to accelerate "high-end development for professional creators while realizing a new creative environment where anyone can give shape to their own unique worlds and games."

This new Lollipop Chainsaw sequel comes more than a decade after the game was released in 2012, followed by its RePOP remaster in 2024. Between the upcoming sequel and confirmed anime, longtime fans of the cult classic have plenty to look forward to at Tokyo Game Show 2026.
