Marvel's Wolverine Unveils New Characters at PlayStation State of Play June 2026
Jean Grey Pairs With Logan
Marvel's Wolverine just revealed Jean Grey and more characters during the PlayStation State of Play June 2026. In the extended gameplay trailer shown, Logan is seen tracking a group of mutants captured by the Reavers, a gun-for-hire cybernetic militia employed by long-time mutant hater, Bolivar Trask.
Logan stalks the Reavers and takes them down brutally, slicing them piece by piece, drenching Wolverine with their blood. During his tailing, he is joined by fellow X-Men Jean Grey, who uses her telekinetic prowess to obliterate enemies.
While unconfirmed whether she is playable or not, it seems that she will at least be a handy assist similar to several characters in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2, like Miles Morales, Wraith, and Harry Osborn.
Snippets of Mystique, Sabretooth, Omega Red, and Other Characters

Aside from Jean Grey, developer Insomniac Games previewed several other characters set to appear in Marvel’s Wolverine, including Mystique, Sabretooth, Omega Red, Ogun, and Bolivar Trask.
Although their exact roles remain under wraps, they clearly match the raw brutality of Logan himself. Interestingly, Sabretooth, Logan's iconic arch-nemesis and brother, was shown ripping through Reaver soldiers in the footage, hinting at a potential, uneasy alliance between the two rivals during the game.
Furthermore, the trailer suggests that players won't just be facing the giant Sentinels fans are accustomed to. Marvel’s Wolverine will also introduce human-sized Sentinel variants fighting alongside Trask's Reaver forces.
Classic Wolverine Techniques

In Marvel’s Wolverine, Logan will have an array of skills he can dish out to punish opponents. These "Techniques" feature some of Wolverine’s classic moves, such as the Tornado Spin and Bull Rush, while Jean can use her telekinetic abilities to execute Critical Strikes.
Landing successful attacks, parries, and kills builds Logan’s Rage meter, which players can spend on devastating strikes or use his Last Stand to trigger his vital Healing Factor. Maxing this out unleashes "Rage Tier 3", a stylized, monochromatic burst of pure savagery heavily inspired by Marvel Comics’ Black, White & Blood series.
Beyond the traditional combat, Logan will also ride on his motorcycle and hunt down enemies in cinematic and fully playable chase sequences that will see him jump from vehicle to vehicle.
