Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls New Characters Revealed at EVO Japan 2026
Hulk and Shuri's Black Panther Join The Roster
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls unveiled Hulk and Black Panther as playable characters in a trailer on May 3, during the 2026 Evolution Championship Series (EVO) in Japan. Developer Arc System Works aired the preview at their booth, showing the two joining the game's newest team, the Fighting Avengers, with previously announced Captain America and Iron Man.
Hulk joins the roster as a gigantic green gamma-radiated brawler in dinosaur bone armor. An all-rounder who can smash enemies at any range, he has a unique Gamma Gauge that can boost his speed and strength. Called from exile in the Savage Land by the teammates who put him there, he partners with the Fighting Avengers to defend Earth, despite distrusting them.
Meanwhile, Shuri takes up the mantle of the Black Panther. Wakanda’s young ruler dons the black suit and carries the Spear of Bashenga to assist with mid-range battles. She can dash in multiple directions with her gauge skill, Bast’s Blessing, for close-range combat. A new Wakanda stage was revealed alongside the trailer at EVO Japan 2026.

Led by Captain America, the Fighting Avengers have assembled to protect the world from Champion, who threatens to destroy Earth if it fails to present him with worthy opponents. Champion has called the world’s greatest heroes and villains to fight each other in a competition, The Challenge of The Champion, where a winning team of four must defeat him in a final battle to save the planet.
The Fighting Avengers are the third team announced for the upcoming 4v4 tag-team fighter, set to release on August 6. The Unbreakable X-Men team, with Storm, Magik, Wolverine, and Danger, was announced in February. Just last March, the lineup for the Amazing Guardians was completed, with Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker.
Marvel Tōkon Will Join Arc World Tour

Marvel Tōkon will join the 2026-2027 Arc World Tour (AWT), the sixth season of the global tournament circuit for titles by Arc System Works. Alongside Guilty Gear Strive, it is one of two titles confirmed for competition during AWT by a March 22 post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Demos for Marvel’s highly anticipated fighter game have been making the rounds in big events for competitive gaming circuits, such as EVO and AWT. Before the trailer launched, Arc hosted an exhibition match between esports players SonicFox and GO1 at their EVO Japan 2026 booth, showcasing previously released characters. Prior builds were available to be played at the 2025 EVO in Las Vegas and the Arc World Tour in Seoul last March.

This led to fan speculation that the game would have its own tournament circuit prior to the confirmation. Playable demos with the new characters will be available on May 22 at Combo Breaker 2026 in Chicago, Illinois, and on May 28 during Hong Kong Comic Con 2026.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls launches August 6 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Additional characters, costumes, and lobby decorations are available with the Deluxe and Ultimate Edition. To stay up to date on the latest news about the game, check out our article!
