Lord of Mysteries has officially concluded its second closed beta, the Grey Fog Test. While the Chinese App Store points to an upcoming November launch, player feedback has been heavily mixed.

Major Beta Feedback and Concerns
Lord of Mysteries reached the end of its beta test on July 7, 2026. Despite this, many players expressed frustration regarding the game's current state.
The most notable complaints centered around heavy pay-to-win mechanics, highlighted by a PvP tournament held on the final day of the beta, where paying players reportedly possessed 30% to 50% higher stats than free-to-play participants. This aggressive monetization was also evident in a real-money player market that allowed players to buy trading currency with cash, alongside a top-up promo offering bonus launch currency that testers felt aggressively incentivized to spend.
Furthermore, progression was hampered by strict PvE gatekeeping, as certain dungeons were tuned as rigid damage checks that led to players being kicked from groups if they didn't meet optimal thresholds. Beyond these mechanical issues, fans also criticized the character designs, noting that the overall aesthetic felt disconnected from the dark atmosphere of the original web novel.
November 1 Release Date Could Be a Placeholder

The game’s official listing on the China (CN) App Store currently displays an expected release date of November 1, 2026. However, community sentiment is heavily split on whether this date is the launch or the open beta.
Given the volume of feedback and systems needing an overhaul, many players speculate that November 1 might actually mark the start of an Open Beta phase rather than a polished, full release. While some fans want the developers to delay the game to address these critical issues, others are simply eager to play the final product.
It is unclear whether or not the said date on the CN App Store is actually the game’s release date, as developer SPARK NEXA has yet to make an official announcement.

As of right now, there is still no word on a global launch. The closed beta was strictly limited to China, and developer SPARK NEXA has remained quiet regarding releases for other regions, platforms, or localized dates. Global fans will likely have to wait and see how the studio responds to this wave of feedback before any international announcements are made.
