Light and Night SEA Moves to Closed Beta Build in May
Registration Available on May 19
Light and Night gears up for its much-anticipated release on the Southeast Asia (SEA) server with a closed beta test scheduled to begin on May 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM GMT+7. It will be available for players on Android and iOS devices.
According to the announcement shared across its official social media channels, users who pre-registered for the mobile otome title will receive a download link for the closed beta build via email on May 19 at 11:00 AM GMT+7. The registration portal will remain open throughout the day until it reaches its maximum number of players logged in to the game.

Developer Aurora Studios invites participants to report bugs and leave feedback on Light and Night SEA's official Discord server and Facebook group during the testing phase. As it is a "limited-access test with top-up enabled and data reset," all progress, including in-game purchases, will be wiped once the beta concludes. Fans anticipate that refunds will most likely take the form of rebates or spend-based rewards upon its full launch.
As of now, the developers have not disclosed an end date for the closed beta nor teased a release window for the full launch. Nonetheless, based on release patterns from other servers—China on June 24, 2021; Taiwan on June 16, 2023; and South Korea on June 18, 2024—the community has been speculating a potential June launch for SEA as well.
Teases the Love Interests

Following its pre-registration announcement in late April, Light and Night SEA's social media accounts released character previews for the love interests Osborn, Evan, Sariel, Charlie, and Jesse from May 2 to May 9. Each post spotlights them with their English voices delivering romantic lines to the player, such as Osborn’s "Even if you stand at the world’s edge, my eyes will find you," and Sariel’s "How come every time I'm around you, my rhythm gets thrown off all by itself?"
The same voice lines can also be found on the official website for the game pre-registration, featuring their non-animated portrait art and character details (occupation, age, height, and Zodiac sign). However, publisher Tencent has not yet revealed the specific names comprising the English voiceover cast.

Due to its immense popularity, Light and Night has been deemed as one of the "Big 6" of Chinese otome games alongside Love and Deepspace, Tears of Themis, Mr. Love: Queen's Choice (known as "Love and Producer" in China and Taiwan), Beyond the World, and For All Time. Light and Night SEA will follow the lineup of these titles with English localizations. Notably, however, Beyond the World and For All Time are only available in Chinese, and Mr. Love: Queen's Choice shut down its global server last March.
An otome game is a female-oriented subgenre of dating sims where the player, typically a woman, pursues a relationship with one of the romanceable targets. They generally feature male love interests with a variety of personalities, interests, and backgrounds, though there are also cases—such as the hit 2016 chat-sim Mystic Messenger—that offer a female romance route.

Developed by Aurora Studios and published by Tencent, Light and Night SEA is slated for release on Android and iOS at an unconfirmed date. Neither Tencent nor Aurora has commented on the possibility of a global server. For more information about the game, check out the article below:
