Light and Night SEA Closed Beta Faces Server Maintenance
"Ursa Minor" Compensation
Light and Night’s Southeast Asia (SEA) server encountered technical issues on the opening day of its closed beta test (CBT), as developer Aurora Studios reportedly did not expect the "overwhelming" number of players logging in. The game announced on X (formerly Twitter) and on its official Discord server today that players will be granted "Ursa Minor" tokens for compensation, the in-game currency for gacha pulls, with the exact amount to be detailed in a forthcoming post.
Since the CBT went live earlier today, beta testers reported queue cycles of 1,000 to 2,000 players, only to be endlessly redirected to another waiting time after clicking on "Touch to Start." Users on social media suggested the surge in players may have stemmed from the closed beta link spreading online, rather than the game prioritizing pre-registered participants.
Fans questioned the delay in communicating the operational expansion and adjustments on Light and Night SEA's official channels, which left them monitoring updates for several hours. Nonetheless, some also expressed appreciation for the disclosure and hoped the playtest would become accessible soon.

Yesterday, the otome game's week-long CBT opened sign-ups via emailed links for pre-registered users or by searching for the title on Google Play and the App Store. Its official social media accounts revealed multiple rewards obtainable during the playtest, including daily login bonuses, exclusive items and accessories, a free 5-star Bond, a guaranteed 6-star Bond within the first 10 gacha draws, and a top-up rebate exceeding 200% converted into Polaris upon official launch.
Light and Night SEA has emerged as one of the most anticipated otome titles with an English localization this year, despite a rocky reveal in recent months hampered by prior false announcements and its X account being taken down. The recent influx of players during the CBT, which even exceeded server capacity, reflects the game's rising popularity within the otome community.
Light and Night SEA is currently being developed by Aurora Studios for iOS and Android devices. Drawing on previous release patterns for its other servers in China, Taiwan, and South Korea, fans are eyeing a possible June launch for SEA.
