Kingdom Hearts recently released a full demo of King Mickey’s electronic Keyblade replica, which is currently open for pre-orders and is set to release in October 2026.

    Kingdom Hearts Reveals New Merch

Lights, Sound Effects, and Music from the Game

Kingdom Hearts has just released a full demo showcasing the light and sound effect (SE) functions of King Mickey’s Keyblade replica, named "The Kingdom Chain Darkside." The nine-minute demo aired on Bandai’s promotional webshow, Bandai Mania, on May 26.

Square Enix’s replica is currently available for pre-orders worldwide through the Hobby Genki website, priced at ¥10,990.00, or approximately $69. However, shipping to the United States is suspended until further notice, as per the website’s Shipping and Delivery terms.

The item is scheduled to ship out on its official release in October 2026. An exact date has yet to be announced.

The Kingdom Chain Darkside is a 50-centimeter recreation of King Mickey’s gold-and-silver Keyblade from the game. It has three game modes that simulate different light and SE, which users can cycle through by pressing a button on the handle.

Drive Charge Mode activates the Drive Charge and Gauge MAX SE from the game, while Attack Mode simulates seven different sword-swinging SE and the SE cued by defeating an enemy. Both modes are accompanied by light effects from the LED at the tip of the Keyblade.

Music Mode allows the user to play the Mickey Mouse March and the Vim and Vigor tracks from the game, even while Drive Charge and Attack Mode SE are active. The Kingdom Chain Darkside opened for pre-orders in April 2026. It is an accompaniment piece to the Keyblade Kingdom Chain, a replica of Sora’s Keyblade, which was released in 2025.

New KH Merch, But No News About KH4

While merch collectors have expressed their excitement for King Mickey’s Keyblade replica on social media, gamers eagerly await an update about Kingdom Hearts 4 (KH4) during one of the upcoming summer gaming showcases. Fans are especially looking forward to PlayStation’s State of Play on June 2.

The last official update for the game came from director Tetsuya Nomura in 2025 during a livestream celebrating the second anniversary of Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, where he said that KH4’s development is "going according to schedule."

Earlier in May, fans speculated that an announcement about KH4 would be shown during the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) due to a teaser posted by TSG on X (formerly Twitter), which fans observed to feature a font used in the game. However, this was revealed to be a coincidence, and the showcase did not feature KH4.

Later in May, fans flocked to the comments section of a 10th anniversary celebration teaser from Dead by Daylight (DBD), which said: "Can You Feel The Darkness Feeding On The Heartless?" Memes and questions filled the replies, with some joking and others hoping for a KH collaboration or KH4 promotion. Currently, DBD has not posted anything related to KH, and the celebration teaser turned out to be an invitation to DBD’s June 14 anniversary party in Montreal.

KH4 was initially announced way back in April 2022 with a cinematic trailer that showed Sora battling enemies in a modern, realistic setting.
