Invincible VS Open Beta Kicks Off April 9 With 3 Playable Modes and Ranked Rewards

Conquest with bloodied fists

Invincible VS details its open beta ahead of its April release, including its playable modes and a chance for players to earn a spot in the game’s credits. Learn more about what’s included in the beta.

Invincible VS Open Beta Modes Explained

Three Modes Available From April 9-11

Invincible VS begins its open beta from April 9 at 10 AM PT to April 11 at 9 PM PT, featuring three playable modes, including a Ranked system where top players can earn a spot in the game’s credits. The limited-time beta will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and give players an early look at its 3v3 tag mechanics ahead of launch.

During the open beta, players will have access to three modes: Tutorial, Practice, and Ranked. New players can start with the Tutorial, which breaks down core mechanics from basic movement and inputs to more advanced systems such as Active Tagging (switching fighters while attacking) and Assist Breakers (used to stop additional attacks from opponents).

Practice Mode expands on this by giving players a space to test Fighters and refine strategies in real time. Players can experiment with team setups, combos, and matchups while using tools such as Hitbox and Frame Data to better understand how moves connect and behave. Dummy Settings allow control over opponent behavior, while Recordings can be used to set up practice situations.

For competitive play, Ranked Mode provides a preview of the game’s ranking system during the beta. Players begin with 10 placement matches, which determine their starting Rank based on performance.

After placement, players climb the ranks using League Points (LP), a score earned through wins and lost through defeats. Gaining LP increases a player’s Rank and leaderboard position, while losses can result in deductions and potential demotion. Win streaks also grant bonus LP.

A limited-time reward is tied to Ranked play during the beta. The top 20 players on the leaderboard at the end of the Open Beta will have their names featured in the full game’s credits, although all Ranked progress will reset before the full release.

All 18 Playable Fighters Revealed

In related news, Invincible VS has confirmed Conquest as the 18th playable character, completing the game’s launch roster ahead of its release. The character was revealed during the Evo Awards 2026 on March 28.

Described as one of the oldest and most ruthless Viltrumites, Conquest is considered a "Striker" who relies on powerful attacks and armored abilities to overwhelm opponents.

The full launch roster includes:

Matches in the beta will take place across six arenas: Hometown Invasion (Night), The Moon, Ka-Hor’s Tomb (Day), Himalayas, Kinetic Chamber, and Training Room.

Universa and the Immortal have also been confirmed as the first post-launch DLC characters, with more fighters planned in the months following release. Universa is an energy-siphoning antagonist from the Invincible series, while the Immortal is a member of the Guardians of the Globe, a superhero team in the Invincible universe. Players who participate in the open beta will also receive a bonus cosmetic Omni-Man skin.
