Illusion Connect: RE goes live 3 years after the first title's end of service. Check out what the relaunch brings and what fans think about the comeback.
Illusion Connect: RE Now Live
Available on Google Play and App Store
Illusion Connect: RE, an anime real-time strategy mobile gacha game, returns over three years after the original title’s shutdown in 2022. The revival title went live on June 4, 2026, and is now available for iOS and Android via the App Store and Google Play.
This RE project retains Illusion Connect’s fast-paced combat, utilizing a 3x3 grid structure and energy-based deployment system. It will also continue to feature the original’s sleek live-2D art style and popular Home system, where players can interact with the characters they collect.
Before its release, Illusion Connect: RE ran a pre-registration campaign offering a variety of rewards to players. After reaching over 300,000 pre-registers, fans will receive a free Phoebe skin, x10 Selected Tickets, SR Partner Beatrice, and so much more.
A Surprise Comeback

The sudden return of Illusion Connect: RE came as a surprise to the community, given that the original title's lifespan lasted just over two years. The game initially launched globally in October 2020 under Superprism Technology, gaining a dedicated following for its unique combat and character designs.
However, following a decline in performance and controversial publisher decisions, the original servers officially suffered an End of Service (EoS) on December 29, 2022. This time around, the game is being handled by Sugargame Network, a relatively new publisher that launched its flagship title, Magic Forest: Dragon Quest, in late 2025.

Despite the hype from long-time fans, many in the community remain skeptical about the relaunch. Fans from r/gachagaming are doubtful that this comeback will last long, given that the original only ran for about two years before its EoS and that Sugargame Network is still a small-time publisher.
Some are even highlighting the game’s multi-server release structure—a tactic often criticized as a cash grab designed to push "whales" (high spenders) into spending heavily to maintain their leaderboard ranks across isolated servers. Regardless of these skepticisms and criticisms, there are still fans who remain hopeful that Illusion Connect: RE will truly revitalize the game.
