hololive Dreams Launches First In-Game Event "Hello! Brand New Summer!"
A New Story, Six Songs, and Summer-Themed 5-Star Members Await
hololive Dreams has launched its first in-game limited-time event, "Hello! Brand New Summer!," less than a week after the rhythm RPG's worldwide release. It is now live on PC, iOS, and Android and will remain available until August 5 at 7:59 P.M. JST (3:59 A.M. PT / 6:59 A.M. ET). It is the game's first seasonal update after its July 23 release and introduces a new event story, additional songs, and a summer-themed recruitment banner.
The update revolves around a point rally event. Here, players earn "Event Pts" and badges by clearing rhythm stages and mini-games, then exchange those badges for event memories and other upgrade materials. Players who earn enough points and secure a place in the top rankings will also receive "event-exclusive titles."
Story-wise, Oozora Subaru, Shiranui Flare, Shirogane Noel, Tsunomaki Watame, and Otonose Kanade team up to transform the island’s coastline into the ultimate beach getaway. Unlocking the event’s story, though, requires clearing "Main Story Chapter 1 Episode 4 ‘Mythical Connection’."
The event coincides with the release of the "Sunny Summer Vacation," a limited-time banner that features new 5-Star swimsuit cards for the same five talents. The banner went live on July 28 and will stay online until August 7 at 10:59 A.M. JST (August 6 at 6:59 P.M. PT / 9:59 P.M. ET).
Each featured card unlocks a matching Park Outfit for Dream Park and a Live Outfit for the rhythm stages.
The event has its own soundtrack to match; "Boom! Boom! Tropica Vacation" debuts as a brand-new original ensemble song performed by all five featured members. The track arrives alongside a full-length music video on the game's official YouTube channel and joins the playable song list as an event challenge track. Five more songs have entered the rotation as part of the same update, with each one tied to a featured hololive talent.
All six songs appear as challenge tracks during the event. The newly added songs are:
⚫︎ HOT DUCK! - an original song featuring Oozora Subaru
⚫︎ Homenobi - an original song featuring Shirogane Noel
⚫︎ You & alzu - an original song featuring Otonose Kanade
⚫︎ UNDEAD - a cover of YOASOBI’s song featuring Shiranui Flare
⚫︎ Renai Circulation - a cover of Kana Hanazawa’s song featuring Tsunomaki Watame
The release continues a busy first week for hololive Dreams. Earlier this week, QualiArts and COVER announced that the free-to-play title had surpassed one million downloads worldwide. The milestone is being recognized through a separate login bonus campaign that runs alongside the summer event. Players who log in during the celebration can claim additional rewards as they work through the event story and its accompanying challenges.
The strong start reflects an encouraging debut for hololive Dreams, which left a positive first impression on us here at Game8 when it launched on the 23rd of July. Whether that momentum continues will depend on how future updates build on the game's existing systems.
