Five Soundtracks Now Open for Reservations

.hack and Xenosaga soundtrack CDs from select series entries will be redistributed on May 27. Along with the soundtrack composer, Yuki Kajiura, both JVC and FlyingDog announced that three out of the five tracks will be from the anime series .hack//SIGN (2002) and .hack//Liminality (2003).
.hack//SIGN will be split into Track 1 and Track 2, with each being priced at ¥2,860 / $18.04. The .hack//Liminality soundtrack will be priced at ¥3,080 / $19.43.

SIGN’s Track 1 will have 19 songs, and Track 2 will have 20, featuring fan-favorite songs like "Yasashii Yoake" or "Obsession". Liminality contains two discs and a total of 24 songs, including "Tasogare no Umi" and "Edge’s" TV edit versions.
Kajiura also worked on .hack games, such as Quarantine ("Yasashii Yoake") and Link ("Edge", "Obsession", "Silly-Go-Round"), though the latter used songs she previously wrote for the anime series. It is unknown whether she will be involved in the upcoming hack//ZERO, as Taro Hakase is the only confirmed composer working on the game so far.
Yuki Kajiura’s Works in Monolithsoft’s Xenosaga Series

Kajiura’s works on the Xenosaga series, the Xenosaga II Movie Scene Soundtrack, and Xenosaga III Original Sound Best Tracks – Yuki Kajiura Selection, respectively, will be priced at ¥3,080 / $19.43. Each track has 40 songs, featuring fan favorites "Sweet Song" and "Hepatica (Kos-Mos)".
Monolithsoft brought Kajiura over to work on both Xenosaga II and III, replacing Yasunori Mitsuda as the series composer. She would work on the cinematic and cutscene tracks in II, and the entire score in III, before Mitsuda would later return as the main composer of Xenosaga’s spiritual successor, Xenoblade Chronicles, particularly 1, 2, and 3.
While she would mainly work on anime series and movies afterward, she still composed for a few video game titles, like Madoka Magica Magia Exedra and the first Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles. With .hack//ZERO’s recent announcement, fans on social media began hoping for her return to the series.
